W4D2 21 to party
3x21 of close grip push-ups had my whole upper body burning.
Happy Mardi Gras fellas!

W3D1 of 21 to Party kicked my arse. This one is finally starting to get tough. That many heavy squat sets and reps was brutal.

Currently running Return of Dr. Jacked and it is going great. Feels more like a general bodybuilding split than the others that I have tried. Plan is finish this and run into either Periodic Table of Thickness or SJTH.
I did have a thought with these programs to make them more "sustainable" that I wanted to pose here. On Return of Dr. Jacked I have swapped some of the heavier assistance work for machines when applicable, like a machine press after heavy barbell work instead of db bench. I was reviewing some of the other plans I will be running and think swaps like this here and there, not everywhere, will allow for more long term running of these programs without some of the systemic fatigue. I just joined a new gym with a lot more bodybuilding style equipment so it has been kind of fun and shouldn't have a negative effect on hypertrophy.
I will/can update here as I do this but wanted to throw it out there! These plans rock.

W1 D2 of grasshopper
What do y’all do for the workouts without a % of max, the ones with the blanks? Try to increase the weight each set or do same weight for all sets? Increase from week to week?

Pretty much. If I can do 25x15x3 one day, the next time I'll try to at least do 30x15 for the first set.

With 777 out, do we need a group plan for March to keep us in line?

Yes we do. I’m down for whatever. My vote is for Dumbbell strength
W4D3 21 to party
Holy shite my legs. 21 reps of 305 on squat about killed me

I’m not going to finish DB strength this month so I’d be down for start it over. I’ve really liked it so far. I will add some BB stuff on Wednesdays though.

I missed squatober with you guys in October. I was gonna run that next, because squat is my weakest big lift now.
I could feel a big group pool season coming up maybe April or may and I'm in.

The worst. Wednesdays are now my least favorite day of the week

Anybody done HyperTrophy yet? The higher rep schemes feels more like Arm Farm.

I didn't run Strongville yet, so I'm either doing that or Squatober22. Haven't decided yet.

W8D3 of Grasshopper down!
One day to go in the plan, then I can look at my notes and reflect on the progress since W1D1.
Edit to add that I plan on starting Jacked Up Joker next week.

Finished Young Grasshopper!
Really glad I did this as it was a great intro into free weights. Those first 2 weeks were rough as I didn't really know what I was doing on that side of the gym and EVERYTHING was sore. However as I went through the program confidence grew and it feels a lot more natural now.
After looking over my fill-in-the-blanks lifts as well as some of the % based lifts, I definitely see improvements.
Couple noted improvements:
-Failed 75# OHP at 9; completed 2 sets of 10 today at 95#
-Only hit 3 reps on 160# squat; today did 5 sets of 5 at 160#
-Started chinups/pullups with 85# counterweight; Still cant do them w/o a counter, but got it down to 50#
