Peloton- Worth It!Posted by subMOA
on 1/10/21 at 6:29 pm

After reading a few posts on here and my
wife joining some Peloton FB groups we bought the Bike Plus a few months ago- we received it right before Thanksgiving.
Qualtiy is top notch. It really feels like a piece of commercial gym hardware.
The classes are unbelievable- eveyone that can (we have an 8 yo) in our house uses it. Our 13 yo son does a class most every day after school to help with football conditioning.
10/10 would do again.
Also- PRO TIP- you don’t need cycling shoes. We got some toe clip adapters off of Amazon for about 40 bucks and we’re all pounding it out in running shoes just fine.

Is this a subtle thread that your wife feels more confident and you're having more sexy time?
Either way, good on you for the peloton.

We looked for a long time. I agreed to give up a 3x week membership at a local box for the Peloton membership. I may have gone to the box 6 times and paid for a year or better.
I’ve done 30 rides on the bike so far.

Absolutely 1000% correct.
I figured to subtly share this information- over 40 year old dudes, rejoice!

Spending that much on a bike and then the monthly fee is stupid, but it is your money and you do you.
I would much prefer to go to the gym and have the option of bike/eleptical/treadmill and of course what we all need - free weights.

How do the classes compare to iFit?

You can do Yoga, Meditation, and additional Strength workouts- it’s not just a bike. With the live classes, it’s like having a trainer come to your house.
Sorry you’re poor. I kept my real gym membership. Just cancelled the box that I rarely went to.
I will say this- on a yuck arse day like today, none of us would have gone to the gym. But the three of us did Peloton. So- what’s better? Acting like captain badass or having a fit family?

We never did any of the iFit classes- I can say that the Peloton people have the personalities of the trainers figured out tho....
Jenn Sherman is a late 40s, early 50s chick that curses a lot. She fits my vibe.
Dennis Morton used to play college football- seems like a good dude to hang out with- so I ride with him a good bit- he talks to you in the classes like y’all are just out for a jog together.
And it goes on and on- some of the people I really don’t like, but there’s something for everyone.

Dude mind your business, your preference is not others. Don't worry about what people pay.

Awesome man. Keep up the work. Love incorporating the family into the fitness. Will pay dividends for their long term health.
I ordered the bike plus as well early December. Supposed to arrive Feb 2. Sooo excited.
My soon to be ex has the original Peloton(it was his anyways..bought with a work bonus). So I am very familiar with Peloton and enjoyed it before we split.
Looking forward to the swivel screen and better speakers and bigger screen. Also the feature where it auto changes resistance to what the trainer calls out. Will try out some of the bike and bootcamp classes with the new bike. Like the idea of riding bike for some of the class then jumping off to do some strength training..then right back on bike. Plus...Cody is one of my favorite instructors.
I'm doing Peloton classes now with a cheap spin bike and the Peloton app on Roku. Just not the same once you've done classes on the actual bike.
Look into PowerZone rides if you haven't already. One way to try and measure your performance improvement.

I’m sorry Georgie
Thought you knew and were twisting the knife a little. I’m not in the best headspace right now.
My apologies my friend
Hope you are doing well

Keep busting arse on the Peloton (app) and getting shredded. Makes life better.
