I have recently discovered the wonder that is pasture raised eggs. They are much higher in omega 3s than their corn-eating brethren and have harder shells, bright orange yolks, and taste much much better. Now I can't go back. The problem is they cost like $6-$7 a dozen and I eat a lot of eggs. Anyone know where to buy them in bulk for a cheaper price? I'm not talking about cage free. There's a noticeable difference

They’re worth it.

I been finding them for under $5 now, which they used to be $7.

I love them though. Not even worried about the differences in the micros, just the taste is worth it to me.

You are probably not going to find them in a store or at a Farmer Market for under $5

if you want them cheap, you are going to need to find someone in the country that has chickens and too many eggs

I have a friend that I buy from for $2/dozen

I’m glad you like them. We do as well and our chickens live a great life, but let me assure you that when all is said and done, we pay more than you do for a dozen. We have a running joke when we eat them about enjoying that fifty dollar chicken.

If you like those, you should check out duck eggs, they are amazing. Goose and turkey? The eggs are fantastic to bake with.

I built a chicken coop and got 5 chickens earlier this year, before Covid. One of the best decisions I've made this year. I eat 3-4 eggs a day, fresh from the hens' asses.

And Salmon is right. You can find fresh eggs out in the country for $2-$3 a dozen.

Farmer's market is my suggestion, too.

And remember, if you buy them fresh, they don’t need to be washed or refrigerated. Older eggs are easier to peel when boiled.

Steam your eggs instead of boil them. Shell comes right off.

14 minutes and dump in a ice bath. Perfect eggs every time.
