Is it only a certain kind of injury that actually hurts less once your body heats up during exercise, but then it hurts more again after exercise? Have had this situation in the past in connection with running, and am having it again.
Thanks.

Can you be more specific? Your post is very vague.

In this case, inner knee. Maybe menicus area? Feels tender lately before running, doesn't hurt during the run once I warm up, but then hurts afterward and next day. Have had similar experiences in the past

Probably due to an increased blood flow due to exercising. You should probably consult a doctor to see if you have an injury. You could try getting a new pair of shoes, but it's difficult to know without a diagnosis. Knees are tricky.

My foot does this when I run lately. The first mile hurts under my 2 outside toes but then goes away when I warm up. Also hurts when I walk in the morning without shoes.

Endorphins released by the pituitary during exercise bind and activate opioid receptors in the brain, which block sensory receptors in the body for a little while. Then they go away after exercise.

Most tendinitis eases up as you warm up and stretch out.

I've had tendonitis and it acted like that. According to the physical therapist, increased blood flow can help to relieve the pain. Hence exercising "loosening" it up and it feeling a little better. But at the same time, it's not fixing the issue and could even continue making it worse. Long runs would hurt at the beginning, feel good once I warmed up, then back to pain again once I pushed it a little too far. Just never knew when that "too far" line would pop up. I'm no doctor, but in my very limited experience, it points to some sort of inflammation.

i know i have been hurting way more than usual.

I have only been training 3 days a week, due to be out of town hunting Thursday to Sunday. I can can tell you the days i don't lift i hurt pretty bad.

Now that the season is over i will be back to 4-6 days a week. i hope this helps. and like someone else said, it sucks getting older.
