60 YO male. Had to take Androgen Deprivation Therapy (Elegard) for cancer treatment. Dropped T down to 0.0. (The hot flashes and lack of energy were not enjoyable side effects BTW).

Have been off the ADT for about 6 mos and Test is slowly coming back on its own. Last test was 210 ng/dL. Oncologist has OK'd me seeing my urologist to discuss Testosterone therapy but I won't be able to get in to see him for over a month.

Notwithstanding Frank Thomas and Doug Flutie's advice at the driving range, my question is whether there are any legitimate over the counter supplements or boosters that actually work and make a meaningful impact on T values? I feel much better and I can certainly wait to see my doctor ... but I am curious if there is anything that I can do on my own to try to elevate T levels?

There are some supplements that will get you from 210 to maybe the 270s but that's not gonna make much of a difference.

Thank you! That is sort of what I figured and it seems logical but I am not very knowledgeable on the subject...

There’s a good thread on Boron.

Boron has lots of good health benefits. And it has been shown to raise free testosterone, which is the one you want to raise.

what has your oncologist said about the subject? In your case i would go meet with a urologist atleast before just taking something just to be safe.

They are in the same practice group. Oncologist feels comfortable trying to bring up T numbers for "quality of life" reasons. I guess I am just being a bit impatient. Anyway, thank you for your response...I can tell from your posts in the other threads that you are knowledgeable about the subject.

I believe that this is what I will be talking to my urologist about.

Will look into boron and sustain alpha.

Like I said, I am probably just being impatient....

I take 9 mg every morning.

From my reading, the minimally effective dose was around 3-6 mg.

Edited to change 6 mg to 3-6 mg. Also read on Epoch Times today that too much boron can make vit D hydrox-25 levels run high on blood tests. My recent labs showed high vit D, so I reduced my vit D/K2 supplement to once per week instead of daily. Didn’t know my daily 9 mg of boron (WELL below the toxic dose of over 10,000 mg) might be contributing to that.

Take it first thing in morning. You won’t have any issues.
