@ Salmon - good update, was curious if you were still on track or not. Good to see folks trickling back into the thread.

Good day for speed work! Wish it would have been a bit warmer here...would have ran on outdoor track instead of a treadmill.

Yeah it’s nice here today, but supposed to be raining the rest of the week. I'll be dodging that for the rest of my runs this week.
Unfortunately no track access at this time of day with the kids back in school. There is a straight away that’s virtually traffic free and is abt .5 mile long close to me, so it works out good.

I’ve pretty much ditched the track and set my watch for the appropriate interval distance or just use the quarter distance. One of the reasons why my times fluctuate but it’s so much better than running around in circles. Helps me get a feel for effort as well.
Hog: You know I work in Fayetteville. Could get a speed session in together one of these days.
Got 400s coming up today probably going to go 12 instead of 16 like planned.

Any suggestions for finding out what races are coming up? Any websites?
Posted on 11/27/18 at 4:25 pm to Yung_Humma
from experience any local running club i've been a part of has had a list of upcoming races in the area.

do you take it in the morning or night before?

FB is the best one for me. Really the only reason I haven’t ditched it yet is to keep up with races and concerts. Go and like a couple of local races, running clubs and they will all start showing up.

Anybody try these 361 degrees shoes? Running Warehouse pushing them pretty hard on deep discount. That and the fact that I’ve never heard of them doesn’t give me too good a feeling.

This post is going to be all over the place.
Take the Imodium when you wake up.
My watch has an interval workout setting that I never knew about which is cool and reinforces my non track habit.
Running in the USA is a great place to find races and also check the websites of local timing companies.
361 is a reputable brand but I’ve never ran them and always thougt they wer trail orientated for some reason.

I’ve seen them for a while. Never been tempted to try them. They seem pretty cheap, but I’ve just seen them at Academy. I’m sure my shoe whoring ways will find them in my closet someday.

As I head to bed... 3 miles tonight at an 8:30 pace. Started strong, ended strong, just hit a lot of lights which broke up my flow. I think I will aim to do a 3-5-3 for the midweek until I start training again, and try to increase my Sat&Sun runs to anywhere between 10-15 miles between the two.
Basically keep a holding pattern going.

4 yesterday. 2 this morning. These taper runs kinda blow. I’m assuming it’s because my mind is saying “easy rest week” but running is still running.

8 miles last night including 4 x 800 @ 3:25 with 400 recovery. Doing speedwork in thirty-degree weather is a good way to freeze your nuts off

Core work + 100 push ups & 100 situps
3 miles recovery/easy - 8:38/145 avg HR

Got done with work early today, found a nice state park to run at. Was only going to do 3 miles but with this view and the weather I just kept going. Ended up doing 6.

@ TR now I’m looking real hard at the 361 Chaser 2 as a Zoom Fly replacement.
It’s a Japanese brand so if it’s anything like other Japanese stuff, should be good. Right?
