Appreciate it. That's mostly along the lines of what I was thinking/planning mileage wise.

15 Miles @ 8:18min/mi

Good miles with the local running group. Saw Aubie for a second (or at least the group of runners preparing to do the 5k). Good job Aubie! You finally got 1st in your age group! :boom:

Dude. A 10yr old girl came in second. She ran 6:30/mile. A 14yr old girl came in third or fourth. It was awesome.

If I could have prepared for it I should have come out and dropped my sub-20 5k finally sounds like I would have had a chance to get a high place. In all seriousness - I ended up running with a guy in my normal group, but he was running with a Junior at Vestavia HS - she was pushing the pace the whole time, told us midway through that she did a 54 seconds 400m this week (not saying I don't believe her... But someone probably messed up the clock, but never the less insane). The Birmingham area has some very fast runners

Not often you get a 5K with 300’ of elevation. It was not a course to PR.

Last event for me until the half in Auburn.

Have you done it before? If so - good event?

Thinking about planning for it in 2026 (I began running for the first time in my life in 2024).

I did the 5k last year and will be there again this year. Maybe I'm biased because it's Auburn and I don't get to go that often but I thought it was really cool. The course itself wasn't super scenic or amazing or anything but getting to finish in the stadium is a perk. They tried to have an "after party" thing last year afterwards but it was like 20 degrees so I don't think many people hung around.

Do the 5k this year and half next year if you want.

Ethan Strand of Vestavia Hills ran 3:48 for the mile at the New Balance Games yesterday. World #3 All Time and collegiate record.

Only collegiate athlete to ever go sub-3:50 and he blew it up too. Probably should be fully pro at this point, but he's basically a pro runner since NIL came to play.

3 Minutes 5k (10k?) Speed then 2 Minutes ... Maybe Marathon Pace? (hopefully I can do it a little faster come race day)

This one was hard, but I also took the time to recover after each interval and really push myself on all 7 (the first one is nestled into the "warm-up" because I didn't know what I was doing at first)

Anyone in the Nola area going to Run Travis Run on Friday? As of now, I’m flying solo. Seems like some big names may be there. Burt Kreischer said he’s running it. Travis said he may hang back and run it slower with his wife. Also will be a concert at 10 following the run - may not be everyone’s cup of tea music wise, but I’m psyched

This warm weather in February sucks! It was 70 this morning walking out of the house. Saturday is supposed to be 65 and I have a 15 miler to get in. It is going to suck.

Yep, back to no shirt and sweating for an hour post run. Despite the snow, it’s been a very mild Winter. This sucks.

It was a crisp 42, which kept me going in shorts and no sleeves. Ran more than a minute faster than Monday for 3.5 miles. Must have had the right song in my head.
