A lot of our Wednesday group starts at 6:30am or 7:00am right now for Saturdays. Come to a couple Wednesday runs and you can get added to the group chat at some point to follow along.
I work 7:30 to 5:30 near highland. I have zero shot at making the mid week runs lol. I ran with the group a lot from 2013-2016 range. If you ran with the group then we probably know of each other. What kind of pace are yall running? I'm not fast at the moment. Looking for a 1:55:00 to 2:00:00 half marathon this Sunday. Are you on the TD strava group? May be easier to exchange info their instead of on the forum. I would like to find a group to run with since my old group is no longer running or moved away.

No one on that list looks familiar. Are you going to be hanging out with the varsity group pre or post race?
I’m 6’-5” middle aged guy. If you see someone walking around like they are lost, that’s probably me.

I'm trying to figure out my plans. I believe most of them will be at the VS tent near the finish pre and post.

I'll come walk around the area. I am attending mass at 6:00 AM so that wont leave much time before the race but post race Ill be around there. You running the half or full?

Bro I'm Mormon got 3 wives.... I don't have kids but do you think there aren't people out there in the same boat as you with wife, kids and a full time job that can't lay down fast times as rec runners. First it was your age now this trifecta of "reasons". I'm sure your schedule is busy but people find time for things they want to do. If hitting particular goals is what you want you'll find the time and time is what it takes especially at our "old" age.
strava has 99.8% of every run i've done including treadmill since may 2018. avg since then is approx 45 miles a week. many weeks at 70+ and many months at zero due to injury.

As a father of a 2 year old and a 3 year old, I couldn’t agree more with this.

I'll likely be posted up at Mile 16.5 cheering people on. Gonna set myself up to run next year's marathon.

As a Father of a 6 year old and a 2 year old who is also pretty fresh to running... I agree as well.
This week:
Monday - 8 Miles @ 7:52 /mi
Tuesday - 6 Miles @7:20 /mi (Fartleks 3min @ 6:30 & 3min @ 6:00)
Thursday - 8 Miles @ 8:23
Today - 8 Miles @ 8:30
Trying to figure out exactly how far I want to run tomorrow... I'm thinking 13.1 just to get my first Half Distance in since Tunnel Hill.
I feel like I'm back, feeling absolutely amazing at the 8:20 - 8:30 pace, like, I could do it all day. I can't believe the progress I've had in the past year, I just didn't expect this is at all.
----
ETA: Also not sure how many pace miles I need to drop into my Long Run tomorrow, I'm thinking somewhere from 3 to 5, just not sure yet.

Yeah i agree it's all about priorities i couldn't be as good/present of a father to my three kids as i want to be running 60-70 miles a week. That's why my goals are short races fast. Maybe it's semantics or difference of opinion but if you're putting in over 70 miles plus a week it's beyond a rec hobby in my mind.

I've realized that I'm going to have to get my runs in either early early in the morning at 5:30am, or run at night after 9pm. Baby #2 is going to make this happen and I'm not going to like it but oh well.

Totally agree. My wife has asked me not to run another half until the kid is a little older. I'll stick to 5ks and 10ks after this

Best part about having kids in their 20's. I get to go whenever I want.

I'd love to do Tiger 10k during the NORMAL time of year but they moved it to May this year and that is going to be bad for both weather and my eventually 1.5 month old 2nd child.

Oh believe me, we have a double Bob stroller to make sure the kids are with us whenever we want to go outside. Problem is the new baby can't use the Bob until he's strong enough to lift his head.

I just started running a lil over a year ago. It was not long after my daughter had started driving and I would come home from work and didn’t need to (go to practices, haul a kid, or attend some school thing) I was sitting in my recliner at 445 in the evening thinking to myself man I’m gonna get old and fatter like this. Started walking and preparing for a hunt out west right then, ran 2 5ks last summer and started training for a marathon.
Running a marathon Sunday.
There is no way I would have made time to train like that with two kids playing sports and all the other things in life such as hunting fishing vacations and occasional work lol

Toughest two age groups for men are 20-30 and 50+. Why? No kids to occupy their training time.

This was me last year. Getting in the miles has more to do with an understanding/accepting spouse than the kids themselves. I wake up at 4:45 to get my weekday runs in, have to walk on eggshells to get anything longer than 8 on the weekends.
