It’s called TD.Com. 3nOut started it, not sure if he has to approve you or not.

Thanks. Another reason to continue to run and not be a lazy POS. The discrepancy in elevation gains between the runners is staggering. I average 20 ft in elevation gain for a 10 mile run.

It’s good to do groups. My local group pushes each other every week for high mileage runner.
Just don’t try to keep up with McLemore’s brother.

The humidity this morning was terrible. Just terrible.
One of the most disgusting, miserable runs of the year. “Expect some cooler fall temperatures next week...” frick you, James Spann. The temps are lower but I ran through a wet blanket.
6 miles. 13 minute total pace. 10 minute pace when I was running. 976 feet total elevation climb.

I took the last week and a half off except for a 4 miler on Saturday. This humidity and heat can kiss my arse, I'll start my training back up after a cool front

Wasn't feeling it this morning. Slogged through 7 miles @ 8:45.

Got in a 5k yesterday afternoon at 23:11. Was shooting for sub 23:00, but my lack of mileage lately has killed my stamina. I ran all positive splits, which is almost never my goal.

Planned off day today but the not so harsh weather was too tempting to pass up.
Hit 6x400m sprints/2:00 rest with 800m warm up/cool down.
1:44, 1:33, 1:28, 1:28, 1:30, 1:33 on the sprints.
Gonna head down to N.O. tomorrow for a Dexa Scan and VO2 Max testing. Never done either, so just looking for a baseline. I may grab a run while I'm down there, or I may just hit up Shaya for lunch instead.

If you’re JG on Strava, put a shirt on.

I never pass up a chance to go shirtless.

Keep us posted. I'm interested in doing this as well.

Weather app said 90%-100% chance of rain for this morning from 3am through 10am. Decided to sleep in and get extra rest and of course there was no rain this morning when I woke up. Still got almost 8 hours though so I’m happy.
Circuit training with push ups, pull ups, and leg raises for about 20 minutes.

Just got done at DexaFit on Magazine. Dexa Scan came back at 16.4% body fat, which was about what I thought (somewhere between 15-18%).
VO2 Max was measured at 46.7. My Polar watch (which I was skeptical of) says I’m at 57. Not much new data, as this puts my Aerobic threshold between 125-155, I had it figured to be about 160, max HR around 185. This just confirmed what I have basically been training off of anyway.
Pricing was $150 for each test, but of course they had a “special” where I could get 4 tests for $315, so I did that. So I have 2 more to use within the next year.
In summation, I didn’t really gain any new data, but got a good baseline confirmed as to where I’m at right now.

That's good stuff. My question is, what does one do with that data? Are you going to look at your VO2 and HR during your runs and adjust accordingly? Not hating. Genuinely curious.
Posted on 9/27/18 at 2:23 pm to Black n Gold
Of course nothing beats just pounding the pavement and not worrying about any of this, but I'm a data nut so I enjoy looking at this kind of stuff. My main goal was to solidify my HR zones so that I can monitor those while running to stay aerobic or not, depending on the goal of the run.
As far as actual VO2 max, I can see myself having it tested once or twice a year just to gauge my fitness improvement. Assuming I am training consistently.
