Put in 5 miles after I was too fricking lazy to get up this AM. It’s brutal out there. Tried to keep the HR around 160 and found that hard to do after mile 3. 9min/mile and average HR was 160.

I started my training cycle today with 6 x 200m hill repeats, making sure to start with a long easy warmup and a good cooldown.

Ran at night for the first time in my training session last night. Was still 106 degrees, but no sun to beat down on me. It was easy and I only took a couple of sips of water(was just a simple 2.5 mile run).

I'd rather run in 106 degrees with no sun heating up the pavement than 85 degrees with a beating sun.

Hit the pavement for the first time in a week. Temps were great after work (under 70 degrees) but between playing beach volleyball for the first time ever last night and some bowel discomfort I barely kept my six mile run under 54 minutes. Signs I'm getting old.

Y'all got any favorite singlets to run/race in? Preferably something Nike isn't charging $70 for

I wear BCG 7” dry fit shorts and their dry fit shirt. Never liked anything else

Everything I've purchased I've gotten discounted at online retailers. It's not worth spending that kind of money. I get a lot from Joe's New Balance and Running Warehouse.

Just recently purchased New Balance 7" shorts for $16.99 (plus tt&l). Really like them.

I like New Balance 5". Did you buy them online or in a store? That's a great price.

ETA: Nevermind, I didn't read the post above yours.

My legs started to sweat thinking about a 7" short.

I try to catch the 2" Nikes or 3" New Balance shorts on sale. I am a hobbit, though, but I've always liked shorter shorts

1.5 inch is where it’s at, but I got legs that’ll rival Tina Turner, baws. How y’all keep them basket ball shorts up in the summer? When I get home, my running panties probably weigh 2 pounds, I can’t imagine wearing something down to my knees. Props…

Sweet spot for me is 3". I hate to give them props but Lululemon Fast and Free 3" shorts are probably my favorite.

I’m going to stop acting like a dink for a sec and answer your question. I’ll snag some Nike 2 inch shorts at running warehouse now and again under the team section. They’re cheap, they work, and there is no minimum to buy. They got tanks too. All under 30 bucks always.

Just wanted to come here and boast a little.

Wanted to see how fast I ran a mile and I went hard this morning (for me).

Ran a mile in 7:59 this morning I feel like that’s a pretty good accomplishment.

Ran and walked another mile or so, but by the end of that, I felt like I pretty much exhausted all of my energy for a longer run

Wow! I never knew this, I was shmucking it up in the men's section thanking daddy Nike for giving me $40 shorts instead of $70. Thank you!

That wasn’t you finishing third in the 10,000m Olympic trial tonight was it?

Thanks, I’ll take that as a compliment. I have neither the talent or the sticktuitivness to accomplish anything more than occasionally setting a course record on the local level while still getting my arse beat by a minute by some other cat who also set a better record on that day.

Hmmm. So depends… did third set an American record while getting beat by two other schlubs? Could have done it “sleepwalking” and would explain why I woke up feeling like someone whipped my arse.
