Some thoughts on the first day of the trials. I’m most excited about how we show in the 800. Brazier, Hoppel, one two punch is going to be tough to beat. Long hold starts are bullshite. Someone should fire and then pistol whip the starter’s arse after for holding the gun for every event. There is no reason to have 2 heats of the 5000. If you don’t have the gold standard after getting an extra year to get it (indoor and out door meets gave been going on for 6 months now), tough shite. There most certainly doesn’t need to be three heats of the 1500. 2 heats top 4 plus 4 time qualifiers is more than enough to make sure your best get there. 3 1500 races in 6 days is ridiculous.

5K #2 completed for the year, a road race that started at noon supporting the local Little League. Slightly slower time that the race last month (22:20 unofficial) so I have more work to do for the next race in August.
Edit: 22:22 official for 9th overall. Also, shot a 96 walking 18 holes.

Any advice for avoiding foot blisters? Had an 8 mile run last night and developed a blister the size of a silver dollar on the inside of my left foot under my big toe

He was messing with me, but I'm pretty sure most of BOA's stuff is 1" inseam. You gotta be careful or you'll end up like those BYU guys who showed their junk at NCAAs

To prevent, wear dry wick socks and cake Vaseline on hot spots until you develop calluses.
If you have blisters already, you can cover them with padded tape (with the bandages at your local pharmacy).

Have some BOA's that are 3" and they are great for the price. A little more baggy than I would like (should have sized down), but overall not bad for the price.
Tried some Baleaf from Amazon, would not recommend. They are a cheaper version of BOA. They are baggier than the BOA's and don't even have a drawstring. I got them because I really enjoyed their full length tights and was hoping for something similar.

Since one of you thought my post was to hot for the message board, the cliffs:
Don’t run with a boner, rude poor caucasians will call you gay names but it’s more important to be comfortable.
Speech has consequences.
Edit: my experiences other than the boner part, that was advice for Kyle’s penis. Mileage may vary.

I've had little kids laugh after seeing me run by with my light grey/green 5" inseam shorts and no shirt. First they thought I was running naked, then they thought I was running in my underwear. I thought it was not best to stop and kindly talk to them about how they were wrong.

I've gotten looks with my summer attire (3" shorts, no shirt) in my neighborhood from the old and younger folks.
It's nothing worse than what these people see at the pool every day. The amount of body fat in certain areas seen at the pool doesn't bother anyone, but the guy running by their house in 3" shorts causes a stir.

It’s the activity not the attire I’ve come to realize. Hard to be an out of shape turd with jokes other than “ run Forrest…” next best thing is “hey f##”.

So what are you baws wearing under the shorts? I'm just getting into jogging/running (just did 5k straight for first time, 37 minutes) and amd trying to find something that doesn't cause chafing but lasts for more than a few sessions.
Cariloha boxer briefs felt the best, but it's only been 5 workouts and they already are wearing in the crotch.

Nada. Use body glide on the friction points.

I’ve never had chaffing on my lower body, just under arms and nips when it’s really humid. Vaseline works, but shirtless works even better.

My nips chafe like crazy in summer

I'm with Ingeniero. Some of my running shorts have a built-in underwear liner but the ones that don't I run free. The liner is mildly annoying every once in a while but not annoying enough to cut them out.
