unfortunately no, as we live 2 hours apart

I'm leaning with just going with it, just telling her beforehand that its a lofty goal and that much improvement is not the norm.

But she is only 13 and probably hasn't really pushed herself either, so she might be able to do it quite easily. You just never know with kids

Or should we just go for it and if she blows up, chalk it up as a learning experience?

Maybe go 2 miles at 9:00 and see if she can push it the last. At 13 I’m sure she hasn’t been leaving it all out there in her training.

Nice

I've gotta bump my mileage up some during the week.

I’m actually training somewhat smart this time around. Easier miles for the base. Feel way more better. Also Working on getting hams and glutes more involved, I’m heavy quad dominant.

Sweet. How many miles are you logging a week on average. I'm hovering around 30/wk. Once I start training for something I'll bump that up though. I am considering a destination race for the fall. Was looking at a couple marathons in the northeast.

I took my first spin around the track today. 1 mile warmup, 800m X 4 with minute walk/rest. Final thought is that I need to do this more often, but maybe increase the rest time to 1:30 or 2 minutes.

Speaking of track, does anyone know if ULL’s track is open to the public? I thought I read somewhere it was.

1K repeats @5K pace this morning. Steady pacing around 6:50. Then knocked out 5x200 that were between 6:30 and 6:45. Good workout. You don't realize the miles you rack up running around the track with a set of intervals.

It’s not open yet per a friend who ran track there a couple of years ago

I'm also feeling a different, but good, soreness from yesterday's session. That means it's working, right?

Keep at it. If you aren’t yet, you’ll soon be addicted and your run will be the highlight of your day

Still waiting for this to happen. I can’t trick myself into it. Running is boring as shite, but is the most efficient calorie burner so...

10 miles this AM with the run group. Man it feels like Fall out there! Felt great. Ran harder than I anticipated, but everything felt good. Average HR 161. Paced 8:45/mile.

My long run isn’t my favorite, but I really enjoy my easy runs and especially tempo/repeats
