That looks like a good recipe, TA. You might want to throw in some strides here and there, but that otherwise looks like you have a nice mix of efforts and a solid stress-recovery layout. If you start feeling fatigued or experiencing some "niggles," you can back off 40% or so every 3-4 weeks and pick up where you left off the previous week.

Once I go to five days, I’m gonna run M, TU, W, F, and SA, per Burt’s suggestion to space out rest days.

I may limit the marathon pace runs to 8 miles and then just go easy miles after that (up to 12 miles).

Anyone else notice that Strava is pretty inaccurate with the pace of short speed intervals?

Been wondering when I would bump to 5 days myself. Would help if I knew about fall races.

Finally did 30 miles last week. Pains slowly going away. I attribute that to stretching, IT band exercises, and roller massage.
Put in my 6 Miles tonight at an easy 10min/mile pace. Kept heart rate below 160 the entire way. At mile 5 I picked up the pace to finish strong. Ran the last mile in 7:30. Felt awesome.

Hell yeah brother. Great job. You have any races in mind?
My bpm was at 155 tonight. I didn't sleep well, had a stressful day, and was hungry during my run. I hope to sleep well tonight so I can get it near 150 - 152 tomorrow (for the same distance and pace goal - 7 miles at 10:00/mile).

Did some heavy clean and jerks 95% of my 1RM
Then for my running
4 x 800s
4 min rest between each
My legs were destroyed

The race I was training for was cancelled back in April. Just kinda training right now without a true goal other than trying to get a sub 45 min 10K.

Yeah, that should help, particularly if you can add some mileage elsewhere. Your original base-building plan probably includes more mileage at marathon pace over 12 weeks than the Pfitz plan will over the entire plan which seems counterintuitive

Went out for 6, ended up being a 6 mi Threshold run. It's hot. One shower and 30 mins later, I'm still sweating.

That sucks. Careful not to get heat exhaustion.

The 2nd to last race I was registered for this year was just canceled.
I'm down to my last race...a 10 miler in a state park. However, unless state parks start allowing more people in, that one will be canceled too. I'll keep my hopes up.

The one scheduled race I have was postponed from July to September, and it wouldn't surprise me if it gets cancelled. Something like 20,000 runners show up annually. It's going to take a miracle for NY to allow something that big to take place at the end of Summer.

Yesterday was a good run for me. 2 miles with 9:00 pace for 1/4 mile and then 11:00 for 1/4. Ran those intervals until I got the 2 miles. Felt good to run fast.
Did a 1 mile recovery run today. Moving on to 12 miles for the next 7 days.
Then 14...then 16...then the moon!

My local running store just sent an email telling everyone to sign up for the August races and that unless there is another lockdown, they will begin the racing schedule in full come August.

Girlfriend said a few races are scheduled this weekend in CenTex. Not sure which ones or what policies will be.

Feels like you’re standing in front of a hair dryer outside. 80+ degrees before 9 AM, 80% humidity, 15 mph winds.
Tomorrow isn’t much better. Gonna be a gut check run.
Summer is here boiz
