Weekly recap:

Monday 3.8 Race pace
Wednesday 5.0
Friday 4.16
Sunday 10.25

Rare week when I can get four days in. Was shooting to run the 10 under 9:00/mile, but started 30 minutes late and had some knee stiffness. Ended up running it in 9:18. I keep telling myself I'm only putting in two days this week for recovery, but it so hard to scale back.

Following the Galloway Dopey program.

I met Galloway in Montana at his birthday party (we were at happy hour) of all places. Funny given we'd both come from Atlanta. Super nice guy.

Anyway, good program to help prevent injury. Like Peter Attia says, his first rule of fitness is, don't get hurt.

My foot has been bothering me a bit since my mtn trail run. It acted up around mile 10 Sat then went away. Makes me nervous. Gonna hit the pool, bike and weights a few days.

Week Recap:
8/13 - 4 Miles
8/14 - 6 Miles
8/15 - 5 Miles
8/16 - Rest
8/17 - 13.1 Miles
8/18 - 5 Miles
8/19 - Rest

It's a race week for me with a 10 mile trail run at night. Reducing miles a bit this week to stay fresh, plus I'm over due for a recovery week. Not expecting much out of this race given the nature of it, but looking forward to being in a race setting again.

Big guy checking in here. (6’-1”, 230 currently - down from 242 at the end of July) Training for the Dopey Challenge in Jan at WDW. Ran a 7 miler on Sat at a 10:30 Pace with a little Run / walk / run mixed in. Maintenance runs on Tuesday and Thursday with weights and elliptical mixed in during the week. 9 miler coming up this Saturday.

Following the Galloway Dopey program.

6AM traffic at the BR lakes really picked up this weekend. Was dead 2 /3 weeks ago.

Good luck everyone.

Congrats on the weight lose thus far! Noticed a lot more people running the lakes and overall traffic around the area as well with school starting today. I'm not sure if any of this will fit your schedule, but if you are running the lakes already try looking into Varsity Sports running group. They post their planned distance, routes, and starting point by midweek on their calendar on their web page. Runners of all levels and you will at least get to run other routes that arent just the lake loops. I will also be at WDW for marathon weekend, but I am just running the marathon.
If you a big Disney fan or just looking for more information about the races, look up the DISboards and find the runDisney section.
Good luck with Dopey. I hear the early morning are the hard part of it all.

Was still extremely sore from my Saturday long run. Toughed out 4 miles though which was on my training plan. They hurt but I've felt great all day. So glad I worked out the soreness.

I skipped the 2 mile recovery run yesterday but wish I had. I'll throw in an extra two tomorrow morning to keep up with my weekly total.

It’s definitely not easy. This is Dopey #3 for me. We hit the parks every day after the races. I try and get back to the room before 9 each night. You just have to get up and go.

The power to the treadmills at work is out and now I have zero options to get a run in today! A bit pissed about the situation. Guess a double will have to get done tomorrow.

Impossible for me. I ran at 8:30 last night and completely soaked through everything. 3 miles at 9:10 pace (felt so much faster though ). We actually have a nice running track at my company's main office, but the only showers are in the gym and you have to pay $29 a month to join. I would only use it for the shower like twice a month as I am usually in a customer's office. Wish they had a special "shower only rate", but that would be a strange request. Have a lot of free time this afternoon that I could use to run if I had access to a shower.

I brought a towel, deodorant, and baby wipes.

I also plan go out in the field for the rest of the day afterwards to spare the people in the office.

I don't plan on doing this routinely, but I was asked to join a group that runs at lunch. Figured I would give it a try. It's only going to be 3 miles and probably a super slow pace.

I'm mostly doing it as a cheerleader type thing.

Well shite. First my shoes fall apart and now my watch.

But nice little 21 min 5k at lunch. Haven’t ran that fast in a long time. Felt good.

I make it a habit to buy extra bands for my running watches assuming they will break once the watch is discontinued and pieces are expensive and hard to locate.

Thanks

My PR is like 21:13 or so, but I haven't really ever trained for a 5k PR. I just felt good after my morning run so felt like I could still push a little in the race. I would like to try to race one and break 21 soon though.
