5 miles today at 8:45 pace. Not quite what I was shooting for, but damn it was hot. Each of my miles was slower than the previous one.

Not sure what I did wrong this morning. Hoping it was misreading the clock on my way out.
3.5 miles with lots of not-really-that-big hills....

4 miles this afternoon. 10:15, 10:00, 9:30, and then 9:00 minute pace on the miles. Felt too good to run slow even though this was supposed to be a very very easy run. I may run 10k this weekend. This is the first time I run more than 3 miles since ~May.

Been busy with work, house work and entertaining my friend in MT since my 15k. Been paddling a lot and drove up to Glacier area today. Got in a quick 5k on a dusty road and it's pretty smokey here right now. 8:04 min/mi.
Need to pick next event soon.

What’s the cheapest running watch with GPS I can get but is also reliable? Would $200 get me something good?
My family is willing to pitch in all together to get me one, but only about $20-$30 each. I’d supplement the remaining $100 or so.
I’m over going for runs and guessing my time and pace. That run from yesterday is still on my mind. I felt like I was booking it up the hills. Did have to stop and walk a few times but nothing excessive. 13:45....................

String, join a local running group FB page and you might find someone trying unload their old watch for cheap.
Or just use your phone. Plenty of running apps out there.

I believe the TomTom GPS watches are under $200 and have all the basic functionalities. You can also scoop up a previous model (new and in the box) of a current watch at a discount.

This. Also Nike Run Club works well and it has a "coach" function that will set up a training plan for you for a race when you add your race date and distance.

I just hate running with my phone. I love where I live, because at most, I have to carry a few gels. Plenty of water fountains. Throw on my watch and go.
As far as getting a cheap one, look for re-furbed Garmins on Amazon. I got my 925xt for $199 bucks when it was still the newest triathlon watch. The MSRP was ~$380-$400 new.
Also, I go on a site called slowtwitch . com. They have a forum and classified board. I find a lot of good used stuff there. You can't post on the classified board until you have like 5 posts (it's a good site for running and stuff anyway), but you can direct message anyone with a classified ad. And after you get a few posts, you can put a WTB (want to buy) post up for a cheap running watch. I've gotten a lot of good stuff. For instance, I am upgrading my bike to di2 electronic shifting and was quoted 1200 - 1600 from my bike shop. I asked if anyone had any used components. I got everything for ~$400 so far and need about $300 more of stuff, so $700 total and there's barely a scratch on anything.

3 mile run this am as planned. Felt OK, but HR was through the roof for most of the run. I think either I didn’t warm up long enough and/or came out the gate to fast. Anyways, got it done and 20 mins of Yoga after. Will hit the weights in a bit.

I can see that for sure. I wear a belt and don’t notice it too much tucked in there, but could definitely do without it. Does your watch play music or do you go without? It’s pretty exhilarating on days I decide go without music. No phone, no belt, no headphones, connectivity, etc. to manage. That said, other days I feel like the tunes give me that extra push.

In what order did you run them? I like to follow the pyramid approach, where I run the short distance first, build up to the longest distance, then back down to the starting distance.

No music when I run outside. I run on multi use paths and hate coming up behind people who cant hear me approaching. Don't want it happening to me either with bikes and faster runners. When outside, the surroundings are enough to pass the time. On the treadmill I need music though.

This was exactly as I put it. 1600 800 400. Was crunch time because of lunch.
I normally do it one of 2 ladder ways:
Longer to shorter back to longer
So like 1600 800 400 800 1600
Or longer to shorter to longer
1600 800 400 800 1600.
If I had longer I would have done the second one today.
