For all those that track mileage on a watch or phone.. does anyone here have a recommendation for a garmin or similar product that does heart rate, distance, steps, etc.

I have the Polar M430 and it does all of those you mentioned. I’m no tech/gadget guy but I just wanted something for tracking and to be able to see my pace on my wrist. Works fine thus far.

I use the Garmin Forerunner 235. I used a TomTom prior. My Garmin does run and cycle. Not sure about swimming. Easy to use and app is pretty good. Not sure if all Garmin watches use the same app or not. Cost around $250. I would recommend if you're using for basic functions. I have yet to take it on any trails yet.

I use the Garmin Forerunner 235. GPS good for 12 hrs, waterproof, wrist HR monitor, can upload training sets, bluetooth connection to your phone. Can find them between $200/$250 right now.

The 235 has a rather large, very easy to read face to it. Pretty important when you're trying to read heart rate, pace, and distance on your wrist while running and swinging your arm.

Thanks for all the tips. I’ve read reviews of the 235 and was thinking of pulling the trigger on it but wanted to see if anyone here had tried it.

Tip... you can buy off of Walmart's website from a 3rd party and save on sales tax.

235 is probably the industry standard. Not huge and looks fine as an every day watch.

I have the 235 as well and think it's a great watch. For any GPS watch you want a very detailed review on check out this site DCrainmaker While the 235 is a good watch and price wise not to bad, its been around for a few years and could be the next watch to get phased out. Also the HR monitor on it sticks out and can take a little while to get used to. The newer watches using the same tech are now flush or nearly flush with the back of the watch.

Dies everyone like the optical HR? I still wear a strap with my 925xt. Supposed to be more accurate. But it is a pain to remember all the time.

Did another 1k yard swim. Was supposed to just be a way to ease back into swimming and warm up for a back workout. Turned into a rude awakening that my shoulders are completely out of swimming shape.

Signing up for my Marathon this week. Hard core focus on it starting Sept 1st. Looking like it's the Houston on Jan 20th. Need to find a way to swim and bike once a week during training. Also would like one easy full body workout per week. Run the four other days and rest when its needed.

About to attempt 5 miles at a 8:15 pace. Within my capabilities, but been a while since I attempt at this time of day. If I do not post again, it's because I died.

I've been having to do most of my runs during lunch and it's truly a bitch at that time of the day. I was finally able to squeeze it in this morning since I didn't have to be in as early today. Sorry but frick getting up at 4:30 to do my runs

Yikes!

I stuck to the plan today and did some cross training on the elliptical. 30 min hill interval on level 10. Focused on HR, long strides/opening hips and using my mid foot other than heel first. Followed by some calf and core work.
