Thanks, I been lazy since LA
After Gulf Coast I got a little lazy but kept up my speed work and just 10-12 miles on long days.
After LA I think I have probably averaged 16-20 miles a week, sometimes not even that. Think I ran 10 last week total and may be close to that this week. Been getting into Crossfit some and it is taking up my time/leaving me beat up on some of my run days.
You are going to kill this race season, your speed work has been solid

Not running today, but I hit 100 running miles and 165 walking miles for the month. I don't think I have any races lined up for February but I will try my luck at submitting for the Marine Corps 17.75k run when registration opens on the 20th. Finishers get an auto entry into the MCM in October. If I don't get into the 17.75k, I'll just stick to training for the Monument 10k in April and try to set a PR for the distance.

Hell of a cruise interval workout today 8x 1kish. About to get on the laptop to see what the GAP is. All of them right there in the lactate threshold. First time it’s all come together this year. Happy!

Whatcha mean? What’s GAP?

Only got 1.5 miles in today. Last week I had the worst sore throat I've ever had in my life. Lost 10lbs. Still not feeling completely 100%, trying to get my body back into it. My wife and her friend crushed me Saturday on our 9 mile run. I had to tap out at 6.5 miles. Gonna shoot for 3 miles tomorrow.

Interesting, just looked at it in Strava for the first time. Feel better about some of my runs.

My wife and I will run some together. I'm overall faster than her. Going uphill, I'm much more faster than her. Going downhill, it's fairly close, she may be faster

Thanks, CDawg. Went to the doc today and he says runner’s knee as opposed to the tendinitis. I think there’s a slight difference there but recovery is much the same. He said he doesn’t think I need PT, just time off and use online aids to do home stretches and strengthening. He gave me the prescription for PT just in case though. I’m giving it until Monday and if the stuff I’m doing and some you suggested isn’t showing improvement then I’ll do PT. Really appreciate the input and nice hearing that you haven’t had any issues since.
I signed up for the Brooklyn half for May so I have reason to rest before the training begins so it’s not the worst place to be.
For the pain question I pretty rarely have pain that lasts longer than a day so that’s what made me stop and it persisted after stopping so I knew something was off. I jus hear too many stories about people running through consistent pain and it becoming chronic so I try to be careful.

Yup, so when you hear me talking about effort not pace, this is what I mean.
Since I don’t do speed work on the track, I pay closer attention to my GAP because my runs usually finish up hill.

I thought these were one in the same, same as tennis elbow and tendinitis. Basically inflammation of the tendon. Did he go into further detail about the difference?

GO! Especially if it's a sports rehab. I posted in this thread earlier of reasons to go to a PT. The wealth of information they can give you will be worth it. They can observe your mechanics and give you a proper diagnosis to treat and a program moving forward.

Yeah I think Monday if there’s any pain left I’m going to go. I believe my insurance covers it so it’s worth the copay.

Week 5 Day 3 complete
Just a straight up 20 minute run.
2 miles at a 10 min pace.
Any tips for tired legs? Seems I had my wind but my legs were heavy.

Stretch. Yoga has been super helpful for me

Felt a little achy starting off today, but had a hell of a run

Today's run was a nice confidence booster. After work & a dusting of snow on half of the sidewalks I busted out a 8:15 pace over 4 miles. I think this is the first time since November of last year that I sustained that pace for multiple miles.
Might try to get an early morning run in tomorrow, then longer run on Sunday.
