Good freaking night. I just don’t have the speed for that. I can bust it for a mile but I’m spent after that.
I can probably hang with anybody under 400m but I’m a linebacker build.

I don’t consider myself tiny by any means. 5’11” 178ish

That's my goal. I'm not 6' but close to it and want to get below 180. Currently 15 lbs away.

Wanted to address the Garmin vs Strava post from earlier.
I use both and it's almost a necessity that I use both because they cover each others flaws.
Garmin has a real big problem with accurate pace, speed, and timing. For instance I ran nonstop this morning but had a "moving" time of 1:09:35 vs total time of 1:10:35. The run cadence is pretty inaccurate as well basically taking your arm swing distance and counting that. Garmin also seems to only count elevation once regardless of how many times you hit the same hill in a run.
Strava is better at getting your elevation but essentially all it can do is take what your GPS watch is giving it. Strava has tools that Garmin doesn't so that you may analyse your splits better, but Strava has some major rounding issues with distance and time. (seems to only count PRs if I drastically over run the distance required)
Also, Strava KOM policing is garbage. There is a lot of bikists that love to KOM running segments. They're either perpetually ignorant or being jagoffs for fun. (especially for the monthly challenges)
Both web apps and apps are kind of garbage but with their powers combined, I can get a relatively accurate portrayal of my running effort.
I think like most people, I'm waiting on something better to come along.

I RA like a mofo on the website. Nothing pisses me off more than somebody calling it a run when they ran 4 minute miles and have a picture of a bike in their profile.
On the flip side, a guy I run with is a semi pro MBer and gets flagged all the time. But he’s legitimately that good. He’s gone and raced people on segments to defend his honor.
I had probably the worst run of my adult life this morning. Slick and wet trails, could not catch my breath to save my life. I don’t think I ran over 1 mile without stopping. Fell once and smashed my forearm to save my face. Fell again on a turnaround on slick stairs. I’d love to know what my V02 was today because it was out of wack all sorts.

Big time up vote here man. We've all been there but as you implied.
A wiser fella than myself once said, "sometimes you eat the bar and well...sometimes the bar eats you".
Yeah, for 20 miles too!
I don't know if he posts here but some dude in the group sub 20ed a 5k. Awesome job if you're reading man.

Funny because that was about the same as my name for the run this morning. Windshield and bug.
Didn’t see that 5k. Nice job!

Today was a little bit rough. Used to my Saturday being a bit easier day, and my Hokas I’ve been wearing Saturday’s don’t have the same pop.
My heart rate was higher today than even yesterday’s workout. I’m gonna blame the shoes and the 86% humidity

Right!? I remember thinking "man, this feels like a summer morning run".
Watching the ISTAF Indoor located in Germany rerun. Bunch of white people playing make believe on a track.
Not a lot of talent in the fields.

My sister is a freshman at Pea Ridge and was able to run at indoor state meet last night at Randal Tyson. Pretty cool.

My HR was high relative to effort today. I wore T-shirt,shorts and was soaked after my 8-miler.
Glad to see our very own TR and BNG shared an IRL run today

I’m blaming the humidity as well for today.
Never mind that it was 50 degrees... there was no other good reason for that run. Well rested, well calories, and well stretched. Just sucked wind. 100% humidity just does me in.

Team LA is about to flex on Team AR.
Now anyone know how i'm going to shave 2mn/mile off of my time?

Just do it on a bike. Burt won’t know the difference

I take umbrage sir! Are you implying that I do not know what a bicycle looks like?
This morning's run was slower and shorter than it should have been. Was supposed to get around thirteen. I wasn't willing to go that far over my time for the day per my training plan.
Felt like a summer morning run again but I wasn't really that bothered.
Here's one for the record books, thank God the wind was blowing like hell because if it wasn't, the humidity probably would have overheated me.

Are most of your runs (that aren’t workouts) time based rather than distance? Just the long runs?

It's a combination. The easy stuff is usually time but I'll know what courses will leave me close to home as far as distance.
Speed stuff is almost always distance but it's also pretty loose. I'll put a 2 mile warm up together with whatever my speed distance is, and finish with however long it takes to get back home.

Glad I’m not the only one who struggled this morning. I was sucking wind hard. My marathon next week is looking like similar conditions lol.

Well that was pretty miserable today
Why is it 60 degrees in February feels so damn hot but it feels almost cold in July and August

Got 5 in this morning. Body fought me a little again, but not nearly as bad as last week. Heart rate was higher than normal. Part of my running area has lots of trees, so I think that was messing with my GPS pace and making me push more which could be why it felt tighter. Ditto on the humidity this morning also.
