Roots... you free next weekend for a 13-16 miler?

Actually yes I should be. I took the week off with tentative Super Bowl plans , so unless we go out of town we can probably swing something. Would likely need to be early-ish Sat/Sun am. Like around 7-7:30 Northshore time.

Map us out something in the 14-15 mile range on the Lake/Trace.

How many hours of sleep y’all boys getting a night? Some nights I’m struggling to get 5-6. Mostly due to work as when I’m on days my alarm is set for 2:10. Not good for the body at all; some days my runs are probably counter productive for overall fitness/mechanics due to lack of sleep.

Can’t do it. Got a 10k on that weekend and doing a half on the 30th of March. Matter of fact, I have my whole spring season scheduled already.

I mentioned a couple weeks back that my wife got me the Shalane Flanagan cookbook "Run Fast. Cook Fast. Eat Slow." Figured I would throw a couple of my favorite recipes (abbreviated) so far on here for those of you that try to follow a runner's diet. Worth mentioning that I have two children, neither of which are too picky, who enjoyed all of the meals below. I can post more if you guys would like me to. Hope you guys like.

Do let us know if you enjoy reading it. Always looking for running material to keep me stimulated. Pretty sure I've watched 99% of all running related documentaries and short films on YouTube. Starting to run out of good material.

That does sound good, and easier than monitoring a smoker for 12 hours. Thanks for sharing.

You use Greek Yogurt? Looks like it checks all my boxes: cheap, good, easy to meal prep and bring to work for lunch.

Recipe calls for 0% Greek yogurt. I thought it was strange at first, but ended up tasting better than mixed with mayo. We love this recipe the most, since we can also throw the pork on sliced bread and the kids will eat it up.

What are y’all a thoughts on gels and chews?

I’ve had mixed results. Only done GU so far and I’ve had a couple of times where it made me feel like I could run through a wall at mile 9 and other times had no effect.

Academy had a sale on Clif gels and chews and I dropped about $20 to see if it made a difference but was curious on y’all opinions.
