Our gym is putting a 1 hr cap on it. We'll have people from 18 to 65+ doing it. I have a weighted vest, but it is only about 12 lbs. I'll get bigger plates for next year. Also wearing my running shoes for little more comfort over my cross trainers.

I ate a light breakfast earlier and will get some caffeine in as well as water before we start at 10:00.

Good luck everyone!

First Murph done. Goal was under one hour but I started to slow down around round 16. The 2nd mile killed me

Nice work, Doc. I finished in 52 minutes Cindy style with 20lb vest. You are right about that second run. I told my boy, I’m running but I’m not going anywhere

Awesome job. I had a 12 lb vest and did the following:

1 mi run with vest
10 rds with vest (5/10/15)
4 rds without vest (5/10/15)
1 mi run with vest

For the first time ever at 45, I'm feeling good about my results but know I can do better with more training.

Knocked it out this morning. Had no intention of doing Murph, but this thread motivated me to get it done.

Traveling - so did it in a gym without a vest. Assault runner for the 2 miles.

Awesome workout. Going into it without a mindset of needing to beat previous year times opened me up to just enjoying it and putting in the work (which is what matters)

Didn’t realize there was another 1-mile run to finish.

45 minutes un-vested.

50:45 with vest

My goal was sub 50. Hit the first mile in 8:36, left for last mile at 37:05. Thought I had plenty of time to get in under 50, but it was so humid, I just could not catch my breath with the vest on. A part of me died out there on that last mile.

A few years ago, I did it in 42 minutes but apparently my cardio is not where it used to be lol went unbroken on pull-ups and push-ups partitioned. My runs were terrible and had to take 10-15 second breaks in between each round

Kept telling myself during the last wrong and it’s not about me. It’s about those who gave their life for me.

Good results for all.

Skipping it today because of training schedule, but will probably hit it in the next month as a regular workout (without vest).

And let's not forget the namesake on this solemn day: LINK

40:38. Unweighted because I don’t own a vest.

Saw a tip online to do 5/10/20 so you’re done with squats 5 sets early and help with the run.

1:04:30. New PR and third career Murph. Last year I finished in 1:16ish so cut off a good bit of time. Drove 4.5 hrs from Shreveport to Home, pounded some whataburger, and faired the Houston humidity to hit this.

Happy Memorial Day to all and let us never forget those that paid the ultimate price for our freedoms.

Did a highly modified version of this at 10 o’clock last night. After building a fence in the morning, taking the kids swimming twice I definitely wanted to just call it for the day.

But I figured I could do something. I ran 200yards followed by 5 pull-ups. 8 rounds. So a mile and 40 pull-ups in 15 minutes. Not nearly as hard as a full Murph. But still a good little workout.

Finished in 52:29 RX

All day I had planned on doing 20 rounds of Cindy, even during the first mile run. As soon as I got under the rig I just decided to go 33 round of 3-6-9 and 1 round of 1-2-3. Im glad I did that bc my arms never blew up and I PR'd by 10 minutes plus . Not near as sore as I thought I would be.

Happy late Memorial Day!

I did it yesterday for the first time ever at 61 years old. No weighted vest.

I screwed up and thought it was 300 pushups and 200 squats, so I had to go add another 100 squats when I thought I was done.

I did it over about 1:45, and threw in some other exercises to break it up a bit.

I’ve never done more than 55 pull-ups in 1 day, so hitting 100 was a giant PR.

I do a good bit of pushups on a regular basis, so that was the easiest.
