re: Max number of dips you can do in one set right now? Just body weight and gravity.

I thought it was bench press? Isn't that one of the factors the NFL uses during the combine?

I can do 34 Dipping Dots in one spoonful, but I am not bragging.

Pretty sure he means bench dips where you have your legs out straight and your butt off the bench and dip with your back almost going up and down the side of the bench.
I need to get heavier into dips. Vids I've seen have guys load more of their weight forward and "getting on top" of the dip. Like this - correct dip form. doing it where my weight is straight down absolutely lights my arms on fire and not in a good way.

44, 6’1 175 and have no idea how many I can do. Most of the time 4 sets of 12 is all I want after a chest workout. I have never tried them when fresh. I seem to fatigue faster on most lifts these days. Pull-ups and dips seem to be the worst.

I haven’t tried since I tore my pec 13 years ago.

I did 25 today after my chest workout on the first set then did 3 more sets of 12. I need to start pushing myself more because once I hit a number I just kinda stop and I could have done more than 12.
I switched up my workouts from 1 body part a day to:
Chest/triceps
Back/bi
Shoulders/legs
Rest
Repeate

I love dips. On chest day I do 4 sets of 20. 45 years old, 6’2” 225lbs. I’d imagine I can max around 30ish

Nice!
Did chest yest incl dips…25, 20, 15, 10, 10, 10 and smash in abs sets in between. Had walked 5 miles before getting to gym. Sweat so much brim of ball cap dripped like it was raining.
Loved it.

I quit doing dips ago because it hurt my shoulders when I did. Flash forward and I realize the truth is I just let my shoulders get weak. They aren't weak anymore.
My wife is still irritated about the SS bar I bought. She's complaining about how much room I'm taking in the garage and she isn't wrong. I'll wait a few more weeks and then I'm sliding in a dip attachment for my rack. I'm looking forward to it, too.

I am up to 37. 55yo.
Breaking 90degrees. No leg swinging. Form matters.
Observed by son, who plays college football…if that matters.
Chose dips as my retirement litmus test. Not meaningful beyond that. Gunning for 40.
Stay tuned.
