Losing fat around the belt line.
I am almost 60. I work out and am pretty lean for my age, but I have belly fat around the belt line. Not a lot but would like to get rid of it. Any suggestions.

Lose weight, you can't target fat loss areas

You lose fat first from the last place you gain it. For most men, fat leaves the neck area first and stomach area last.

Ab workouts focusing on love handles and diet are the main objectives with diet being the main focus. High protein and a caloric deficit.

But spoiler alert: you will probably have to lose more weight than you want for your stomach to tighten up. People will tell you you’re too skinny. Screw it. Lose all the weight then pack on healthy weight.

re: Losing fat around the belt line.
I dropped from 235 at 6’ 1.5” to 215 and now at 205. It involved 2 years of healthier eating and excercise/work outs and I find the same issue with the extra fat at the waist. My plan is now to drop to 195 and maybe 190 to lose the extra fatty blob at the waistline. At that point I’d hope it disappears.

I do too much with weights and not enough with the lower body. Walking and stair stepping has to increase for me resulting in more sweating and more calories burned. I like to hike and that may help,as well. Good luck with your journey!

I went from 227 in March to 205 now. I’m 6’1” and I can tell you those 20 pounds off have really improved my knee and lower back pain.

I don’t get to exercise much mostly walking a lot at work.

I went to a no sugar, low carb, high protein, and water diet. Lost the fat on the upper torso but I’ve still got a little extra flab around the belt line.

Soon I’ll be able to get in the gym and start exercising better and doing my old abs routine. Hopefully it works.

I'm 6'2" and 200 lbs. I have love handles. A few years ago I got down to 180 and love handles diminished to a point, but everyone thought I was going through cancer treatments.

Legs are a larger muscle and burn more calories, thus contribute to more weight loss. Don't forget your legs or you are doing a disservice to yourself.

Stop letting fat people that grew up surrounded by other fat people dictate what a healthy weight is supposed to look like for you.

Most men are 1) a lot fatter than they realize, and 2) have a lot less muscle than they realize.

You may have to cut down to an absurdly low number to get rid of them. 140-150 is not out of the question depending on height.

Because so many people in society have become accustomed to seeing fat people, that a skinnier former fat person looks unhealthy to them. I guarantee you if you went to many of other skinnier parts of the world, they wouldn’t feel that way about you
