Cause I'd rather my daughter be able to work out without being googled and possibly hit on by old dudes when she may not even realize its happening? Maybe you dont look at 16 year olds.. but there are plenty of guys that do... just go over to the OT and youll find plenty.

Gonna have to let her out of the basement sometime

Any reason to spend $40 dollars on the ceiling x mount... or just buy a heavy duty eye hook.

I anchor on a closed door and I've never had an issue. I'm 200 LB, so I'm sure she wouldn't have an issue.

The only downside of the door is it doesn't allow a vertical angle for the TRX.

If she wants a great upper body push workout with stability demands, put feet in the stirrups and do pushups. That and bodysaw with feet in the stirrups are some of the best core work I've ever done.

She has a boyfriend and she gets out plenty.

But she also likes to wear the type of work out clothes guys drool over like short tight shorts and yoga pants to workout in.

Theres a bit of a difference between "getting out of the basement" and bending over and getting in all the positions you get in to work out in front of older guys (the same older guys on a weekly basis) when no parent is around.

Was gonna hang it in the garage from the ceiling so shed have plenty of room. It's where she works out anyway.

You are acting like 75% of adults are attracted to 16 year olds dude. May there be a perve at a gym? Yes and that's disgusting and it's wrong and it sucks, but they're just as likely to be at a grocery store or a mall or anywhere else.

You're conspiracy like thoughts on this are fricking bizzare. I don't know if you are trying to bury some weird shite you think about or if you are just paranoid, but it's a bad look either way.

Shes not dressed the same at a grocery store or the mall. She also isn't bent over with her arse in the air...

And from the upvotes and downvotes in this thread it seems like the majority agree with me.

Yet you do not share the same concern for her being a cheerleader in a million times less controlled environment. The more you post the more I think you are trying to subdue your own weird perversion.

If you keep her chained up like this, she’ll wind up with a kid at 18 when she starts rebelling,

The reality is her 15 year old boyfriend is already laying the pipe. I know I was at that age. He’s looking for the boogeyman in all the wrong places.

There are really no situations where barbell work is not ideal even 7 & 8 year olds, assuming they are taught properly

Dude. Stick to the context of the post. He’s asking for weight recommendations for a 15yo beginner. Buying a power rack setup is not ideal

The frick? This is exactly what 777 said:

Given the situation a nice silly mounted pull-up bar, either a set of gymnastic rings which would probably be best or a TRX, and some kettlebells would do her wonders. Add in some jump rope and a plyo box and you have the start of something great with the right programming.

Yes and I said in response to OP. That an Olympic barbell is probably not ideal

The quote above was his response to me

Well a barbell would be ideal. It's not 777's fault you're wrong.

But no one suggested to OP to buy a power rack. Take a lap.

Yeah because a 100lb 15yo female doing home workouts moving around a barbell that weighs almost half of her body weight is “ideal”

If you buy a barbell and weights she would be limited to squats, dl and maybe bench press.

A pair of adjustable dumbbells and some bands would go way further for a fraction of the price.

Not even going to argue with him, I understand what the OP said and made recommendations based on that, doesn't mean barbell work still isn't ideal lol.

OP, didn't realize your daughter worked out in clothes like that, like I said, I have all boys so I prolly don't get it. I wouldn't let my daughter go to CF in their type of clothes either.

Just do what me and others said and you will be fine.

Oh and wooden gymnastic rings are better than TRX in my opinion.

And OHP, rows, curls, romanian deadlifts, skullcrushers, inverted rows, reverse curls, JM press, floor press, close grip bench, front squats, zercher squats, stiff leg deadlifts...a few more. But other than those, a rack really limits you.

Sarcasm off, a barbell and rack is the most versatile piece of equipment there is. OP said it isn't what he's looking for and it's too expensive for his budget, which is fine.

If he'd just asked what the best equipment he could get her is, rack/barbell is the answer, but I'm trying to give him advice to fit his stated needs.

Also, how is this thread now about how adults creep on 15 year olds?

So let’s get this straight. A 15yo 100lb girl is going to go from 8lb dumbbells to repping scull-crushers, curls and rows with an Olympic barbell over night?

Get real

Like I said you can do all these with a pair of adjustable dumbbells and not be limited to 45lb minimum that she likely would not be able to handle on anything other than squats deadlifts and maybe bench press but unlikely.

You can name variations of those three all day long but that doesn’t change anything

She would probably strain just to lift the bar from the ground to the rack
