and still not get into having an eating disorder where everything is labelled healthy or unhealthy?

I just don't eat any oil that's not avacodo, old pressed olive or animal based.

No soy. No vegetable.

While I don't really go for sweets, I'm not eating a shitty processed dessert.

1) fry bacon
2) use bacon fat to make brownies or cookies
3) bake
4) eat bacon
5) take a single bite of brownies or cookies and bring the rest to work

If I'm eating something "bad" it needs to be the best damned tasting version possible.

Most nights I fast after 5pm. I sleep like a baby and my body battery gets charged to 100% because I’m not taxing my heart by digesting food all night.

Hit the button on your fast app and have great discipline!

I try to do this Sun-Th and fast until 11ish. Friday and Saturday I just go with the flow. It helps me maintain weight and boosts my energy levels.

The trick to allow yourself something sweet without it being bad. First of all, enjoying sweets won’t kill you. You can’t over consume. You can take two approaches to this. You can limit the serving you eat at a given time. Eat one serving if ice cream or one Reeses’s cup, and that’s it. If that doesn’t work, then maybe find something sweet that is also nutritious. Like vanilla greek yogurt with some raspberries and a squirt of honey. It’s sweet, tasty but also nutritious.

When my sweet tooth hits I go and brush my teeth, most of the time the urge will subside.

I've taken to freezing grapes. I love grapes, but freezing slows down how fast you eat them so I eat fewer and get the same satisfaction. Works with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries as well. I've also frozen bananas and oranges. I don't like those frozen as much as the berries.

Atomic Habits

Just ordered the book. Thanks for the recommendation. I've kicked a couple of bad habits recently (struggled) and working on getting rid of nicotine. I was dipping tobacco for about 8 years and switched to Zyn, and now I'm trying to cut that out. There are some work related habits I'm trying to break as well such as reading TigerDroppings as much but some habits die harder than others.

From your post it sounds like you have a mindset that would benefit from the book atomic habits. It’s like four or five techniques used to start or stop a habit, and you probably have employed them previously. It’s a short, yet quintessential self-help book.

I was about to post the same thing. I think for most people, it’s more about changing the habit than it is about willpower. I’d highly recommend the book.
