Is sunscreen even necessary?

I get if your outside for long period of time but I’m confused because they say you need sunlight for vitamin d? Does sunscreen really prevent cancer? What did they do for thousands of years before it was invented?

Maybe you should read a little before asking the general public to try to explain UV, skin cancer sunscreen and sun nutrition. It’s too much to explain in a little chat board box.

Get sunburned and die of skin cancer.
The sun screen blocks the harmful UV rays, but you still get the benefits of the sun’s radiance.

Died before they were old enough to get skin cancer.

It’s funny how nobody wore sunscreen in the 70s and 80s and somehow turned out ok. 90s come along and the sunscreen industry is created and all of a sudden we have to wear it to check the mail. Remember that song about wearing sunscreen? That should have been a wake up call.

What ever happened to that hot blonde in pigtails from the Coppertone ad?

Or people realized that excessive UV sun exposure is bad for you skin and ages you faster?

Well people were more conditioned to the sun back then and were darker. Nowadays we are inside all the time and more pale so more susceptible to the UV rays

Most died before they developed skin cancer, and in places with the highest sun exposure those genes that allowed for darker skin were selected for.

How long ago you talking about? I don’t think the Vikings were dark

Hawaiian tropic number 4, while not all that useful for sun exposure, is absolutely amazing after.

It's almost like science discovered that UV light is destructive to our skin at some point in time and we needed to protect ourselves, and a company fulfilled that need.

I see critical reasoning is not your strong suit

Here is the question:
What is the body’s largest organ? (not by mass)
..and..
Should you try and protect it from harmful UV rays?

After having several questionable moles cut off, and a squamous cell carcinoma cut off the side of my face, and then another procedure called a burn and scrape once it came back as cancerous, and then putting little packets of chemo cream on it for about a month, yeah, putting on some SPF 30 and wearing a hat doesn't seem so bad.
