I currently weight 245 at 6'4, but would like to lose around 30 lbs.

Would jogging be enough to lose that weight within a few months?

I only eat one meal a day (which helped me lose the initial 20 lbs from 260)

Or would weight lifting knock the weight off faster? I hate going in the gym, i feel like I am being watched even if im not, so I'd like to avoid the gym if i can

Being in a caloric deficit is what will cause you to lose weight.

Jogging can help that but doet will determine everything.

Lifting is to help preserve muscle. If you don't like going to the gym I suggest getting some rings and one kettlebell for home or atleast a pull up bar and one or two kettlebells.

Best would be rings, adjustable weight vest, adjustable dumbbells or 26/36/53/70 LB kettlebells.

Strictly jogging? I wouldn't count on it.

Calorie deficit + jogging? Better chance. Just don't eat back the calories you burn from jogging AND cut 500+ calories per day.

I lost 50 lbs this way. It takes time but it can work.

Burning more calories than you take in is how to lose weight. So yes, you can do it by jogging if your goal is only to lose weight and you eat one meal a day. But don’t crash your metabolism (starve yourself) or you’ll gain back 40 pounds the day after you eat McDonald’s.
If you don’t add weights or tons of protein, your arms and torso might not look like you want it to after the weight loss so just a heads up.

This is such a generalized question with little to no details. How many times a week, what duration, what intensity and heart rate? How about your actual diet?
Generally speaking, a person can not exercise enough to combat a diet of trash and excess calories. Mostly, it is a formula of energy. If you have more energy/calories coming in than going out you will either maintain or gain. If the opposite is the case you will lose.

Ok, well I could jog about 4 days a week, beginner intensity. (Haven't worked out in years and I smoke cigs so I probably will need to power walk starting out)

My diet isn't good I eat fried foods some days but like I mentioned I only eat one meal a day that one meal doesn't even consist of 1500 calories.

I already lost 20 pounds over time by switching to the one meal a day diet.

I think I started around December 2016. I was up to 250lbs, 6', mid 30s and knew I needed a change. By July 2018 I was pushing 180lbs, so in about 18 months I lost 70lbs. I think my target daily caloric intake was 1,800, and half the time it was a struggle to get up to that amount in a day. My current weight range is 190-195 (winter is a struggle) so I've kept the majority of the weight from returning. I haven't counted my daily calories in a while, but I'm much more conscience of serving sizes and calories so that helps a lot.

Jogging and running will help with gaining endurance, lowering your heart rate (and hopefully your blood pressure), and keeping you from consuming calories. Best of luck with your journey.

Just make sure you know after the weight loss, you will be “skinny fat.”

Lift weights. The kitchen is where weight is lost...oh, and lift weights. I jog once a week for cardio and mountain bike, but...lift weights. It’s so freaking awesome. I wish I knew this years ago.

Losing weight is 95% diet. Exercise adds a minimal amount to your overall calorie deficit.

For example last Saturday I ran 11 miles in the morning then single handedly moved out of my apartment into storage that afternoon. According to my Garmin watch I burned 4,315 calories for the entire day, which is the most I ever burned in a day. I am active, running an average of 23 miles a week and weight lifting 4x per week. My average calories burned per day according to my Garmin is 2,642, which really isn't that much at all in terms of food.

It's all diet. OMAD is a good thing that you are doing but I am a big proponent of combining OMAD with low carb diets if you really want to learn to get fat adapted, destroy carb cravings, increase insulin sensitivity and manage hunger.

Dr. Sten Ekberg on YouTube is a great resource on this.

Do you any snacks outside that meal? Drinks?

If you at 6’4 245 are really eating well under 2000 calories (1500 calorie meal plus some snacks) per day, that by itself will cause you to drop a lot of weight.

Unless they have totally fricked their metabolism - which is what it seems like has happened.

Time to cut the bullshite. Go to the gym, lift heavy shite, eat a ton of protein.

And you're 6'4"? You should be dropping weight sitting on your couch if you're truly at 1500 calories a day. There must be info missing here.

I’d recommend walking for you. It’s enough cardio to burn calories without wearing yourself or making yourself hungrier later which would defeat the whole purpose.

You mention one meal a day - that doesn’t sound terribly healthy. Have you thought about 2 smaller meals a day?

How do you feel about weight bands? Specifically a system like the Guerilla Bow or X-Bar?

I also hate the gym and need to do some resistance training at home..

OMAD is a very healthy way to eat due to all the fasting benefits

I lost 15 lbs running without changing anything diet wise. Lost an extra 10 lbs making minor diet changes like avoiding sugar and limiting carbs.
