Think it really depends on Body fat and weight level. A 240 pound man who’s over 20% body fat would likely be completely fine losing that amount, as it wouldn’t be ridiculously aggressive. Someone who’s 10-12% body fat or a 160 pound person? Definitely way too aggressive. Like 777 said, you should be fine for awhile but as you get leaner the deficit should get smaller.

If you're just getting started, and actually stick to a caloric deficit, adding in moderate exercise 3-5 days a week, it will seem like it is falling off of you quickly. After 3-4 weeks as your body adjusts, it will naturally slow down. Reassess your eating after a month, and a small bump in time or intensity exercising, and you should be able to maintain around 2 lbs a week for another month or so. Those last 5 always seem to be the hardest to lose, but it isn't a sprint. I lost around 40 lbs a couple of years ago, ended up too skinny, and have put back on about 15 of it. All through slowly increasing my calories and resistance workouts. The wife thinks I should be 160-165 and no extra weight around the middle. I'm comfortable at 170 and being stronger and being able to workout a lot more.

As has been said, depends. If you are only looking to lose 25 lbs then 2 lbs a week will work for a bit.
I've lost 75 lbs in about 40 weeks. But I had 90 to lose.

I am 6’2 and just started eating 2300 calories a day combined with my usual 4-5 days a week in the gym. Had never focused on calorie count before…. I went from 237 pounds to 223 pounds in 14 days. Granted that will begin to seriously level off. But if you eat clean calories for an extended time and a lot less the weight drops off fast

Define "clean calories".

A pound a week is easily attainable. 2 seems aggressive, but more than possible if you fully commit with both diet and exercise. I am down 27 since January. Dipped under 200 for the first time in years, this past week. 30 more to go.
