What’s your height/weight/body comp/daily activity?
Posted on 5/30/18 at 2:21 pm to arktiger28
6' 2", 235lbs. I lift three days a week and run tow days a week.

I'm 5'11 and 235. I can barely get to 2500 calories. I put on muscle WAY too efficiently. It's annoying how incredibly efficient I am at gaining strength, looking good, and generally being better than everybody without trying. I can't relate to the common folk.

Sounds like you are being sarcastic toward me. I wasn’t bragging at all. I’ve got plenty of fat and muscle doesn’t come easily for me. I’ve been reverse dieting for months trying to figure out my maintenance calories. I’m genuinely currently very interested in this subject which is why I asked. I wasn’t trying to be a jerk.

I was really just adding to the thread and just replied to you. I was also being silly.

Gotcha. I couldn’t figure out what you were trying to say.

10,000-15,000
Probably why I weigh over 300 pounds

Everyone is going to be quite a bit different based on muscle mass, height, what they do for a living, metabolism etc. I would imagine you are pretty close to your maintenance
I’ve been on a pretty big cut for the last 7 months going from 230 down to 185 right now. Think I’m going to up my calories about 500/day and see what happens

I really should start counting calories. How do you guys track these things and how religious are you?
Posted on 5/30/18 at 7:24 pm to marchballer
I get calorie and Macro numbers from Avatar Nutrition and plug them into myfitness pal. I’m very religious about it. I log everything I put in my mouth unless I’m taking it easy on vacation or a party or something. It seems intimidating at first but I’ve been doing it for 10 months and it has become second nature at this point.

I use my fitness pal. And I’m not terribly strict. Although at 2500-2700 calories a day, it’s not too difficult to stay within those parameters. The app itself just makes you very aware of what you’re consuming daily.

The first few months of dieting I didn’t track anything, just made changes that I knew were creating calorie deficits. As the weight got lower, I began tracking with MyFitnessPal also as my daily calorie need had likely dropped considerably.
My plan when I get back from vacation is to try and hit 2,000-2,100 calories at about 40% protein, 40% carbs, 20% fat. I am wondering if that will be enough calories though.

I am around 2800 a day at a slight cut

5'7"
140 pounds
1800 calories/day (when I'm counting).
Weigh myself periodically and cut back if I go over 145.
Also eat extra for a few days before/after giving blood, in order to boost my iron.

5,10 about 180. I would say no more than 2800-3000 a day. Probably much less on weekends but worse food.
M-f, I eat 3 meals and 3 snacks, with intermittent goodies and maybe a beer or two.
Sa and su, I’m looking at 1.5 meals each day, but stuff like wings, beer, and pizza. Only.
No idea what a macro is. I lift 3x a week and do race pace running 3x a week as well, but no more than 5k distance.

How does that equal 2500 calories a day?

Probably around 1800 calories/day. Don't keep track of them as much anymore, but I do try to limit my carbs and eat more protein. Workouts 3 to 4 times a week. Some low intensity stationary biking every now and then.

Mid 30’s 5’10” and ~165lbs
I couldn’t tell you my calories or macros as I have no idea, nor care to learn. If I had to guess by % it is 60% fat, 40% protein, trace carbs. Maybe 3000 on avg, hunger comes and goes so I feed when I want. Animal kingdom only.
These days: 100 push-ups a day throughout the day (not that hard). Usually Tuesdays and Fridays at 4:30am I haul my 50lbs slam ball 200yrds to the park and slam or toss it 4-5 times while really going for 4-5 wind sprints and pull-ups on the playground equipment. I’ve never really liked early morning routines but this one has seemed to stick. I do minor kettlebell work if I’m home alone. I gave up on lifting at the apartment gym - never can get time on it consistently.
In all, not much. No real goals but not be fat.

30/m 6' 175 lbs, maintenance is around 3000 cal. I don't count per se, but I am generally mindful of what I eat. Also no alcohol (recovery) helps.
Lift 5x a week and do some HIIT a few of those days as well.
