What's amazing is I didn't puke.

5 min is gonna be a mf'er to get too. I do 50 to 100 5 times per week. Different speeds and set sizes. By April 1st I want to hit it.

Real burpees? 25 or so

The half-assed “burpees” most people do? Easily 50

Going to see what I can do in seven minutes.

I really have no idea. I would be ecstatic w 70. Realistically more like 50-55 is prolly going to happen. I can move pretty well for a big dude. But I’m too fat to roll thru 7 minutes at 15 per minute.

No doubt these people aren’t standing and opening their hips at the top

The burpee, or squat thrust[citation needed], is a full body exercise used in strength training and as an aerobic exercise. The basic movement is performed in four steps and known as a "four-count burpee":[1]

Begin in a standing position.

Move into a squat position with your hands on the ground. (count 1)

Kick your feet back into a plank position, while keeping your arms extended. (count 2)

Immediately return your feet into squat position. (count 3)

Stand up from the squat position (count 4)

Lester not sure how u define a burpee but this is the Wikipedia definition. Personally I drop chest & hips to the ground then return standing upright finishing with a jump while clapping the hands.

a lot of people trying to do them for reps will not go thru the whole range of motion

Chest to ground, open hips at top & jump is correct

When we did the wod for 7 min at our gym we had a rope going across the bars that was just above finger tip height when standing up. To meet the standard we had to jump and touch the rope after each burpee.
