I can’t afford a gym membership and gas to get to and from every day in Biden’s new America so I’m working on building up my home gym equipment arsenal.

Just purchased the 75lb. adjustable dumbbells from BCG. I would give them 3/5 star so far.

Found this 5 day dumbbell split on M&S:
M&S 5 Day DB Split

What other plans and equipment are you guys using? What are the essentials? TIA

Power rack, barbell, bench, plates. I'd return the dumbbells and use the money towards those.

Dude can't even afford gas. Don't think he can afford all that.

Bench is a must.
I built mine with 2x4’s and a YouTube video.
You’ll want an incline bench too so maybe find an all in one that they didn’t have when I did this during Covid.

The rest depends on your goals. What are you trying to accomplish?

He might live 40 miles from a gym that charges $100 a month.

Just trying to help a brother out. That is the equipment I would get. Save a lot of money in the long run, if he's in it for the long run.

I ran a dumbbell only program for about 5-6 months and even still my program is probably half dumbbells half barbell. You’ll run into weight limitations pretty quick on deadlifts and goblet squats but substituting in split squats will keep you progressing on legs at least.

You do need a bench that can do flat/incline to run most of these programs.

I ultimately added a power rack, a barbell, a Landmine, a cable pulley, and 375lbs of plates. But you can get addicted to lifting and see good progress with dumbbells for sure.

Get a bolt together bench from like rogue, rep, titan etc.

Get a set of gymnastics rings

Get a pull up bar

Get a Weighted vest

Make a sandbag

For lifting pen and paper strength app db program

For conditioning greyskull 50 approved and 5o more approved.

You can email me and I'll send you the greyskull since he owes me money anyways. TD lsu777td. gmail

Many here though are home gym. Many of us have full on setups with power racks and dumbbells, some with machines and cables too.

So, I'm close to pulling the trigger on a fold back wall mount rack. After looking at most of them, I think I'm going with the Rogue 41 1/2".

It will be nice to not have to power clean in to front squats or shoulder presses all the time.

I have the 20.5" and love it. if I had to do it again I'd probably go 41.5" now that I realize I have plenty of space.

Any advice for some sort of textured layer to put on top of horse stall mats to keep the bar from rolling on deadlifts? I've been using small plates but it's only a matter of time before I break one and I don't want to use a wedge

Use shingles to level your floor??

Other then that, lift in the rack if possible or use a wedge

Shingles may work. It's hard to tell in the pics but these platforms have a shingle-like texture that provides some grip. I was hoping I could find something like that to stick to my mats.

I think he was saying to put shingles underneath your stall mats to level them.

Yeah I know. Shingles were just the best way I could think to describe the texture

dunno about the mats, this is what i meant for using shingles to level the floor. Kabuki made a video of them doing it in a garage gym.
