re: Gym is now requiring mask

Got an email from city club in laffy yesterday saying it only had to be worn when entering/leaving or in common areas like lobby or juice bar. Don’t have to wear it for workouts. Seems kinda pointless but they’re trying to do whatever they can to stay open I believe. I do most of my workouts at home anyway but the garage is a fricking hotbox right now even with the house door open and fan running.

Red's sent out an email on Sunday advising while exercising was exempt. Today they were walking around the gym and cardio areas and telling EVERYONE they had to wear a mask b/c "exercising was not exempt". WTF ? I think Red and his cabal have had a change of heart over the last few months. They were democrats and supported them for years (b/c they've been isolated and living in a bubble their entire lives), but after this event and shutting him down, running his covid positive employees on TV and scaring people, and fricking his business, he may have a changes of heart ? He needs to get out in front of this and get exemption b/c there is NO WAY exercising w/ a fricking mask on makes ANY SENSE, it's dangerous.

Red actually sent out another email today saying masks are mandatory at all times. Looks like I need to research some breathable masks for working out in

It was where all the health clubs started. Everyone worked out and it was quite a place to see. Now, none of the health clubs are open and most have actually gone out of business. That is frightening to me.Equally frightening, is watching a close family friend struggle for his life in ICU with complications of COVID. He is young and in outstanding physical shape, yet not immune from the virus. Many of you know someone who has struggled and/or died from COVID. The virus is REAL!I feel that I have a moral obligation to do whatever it takes to protect my employees, some of who have been with me almost 50 years, my members and my (our) health club. If we do not comply with “mask wearing” the state WILL SHUT US DOWN! I am asking you to do your part (wear a mask) so that we can stay in business.I watched the marines at Camp Pendleton today on TV. They were training outside on the beach in the hot sun in full uniform. . . .wearing their mask. I feel that if they can make this sacrifice, then so can we. Red's is so big there are numerous 'Karens' and busy bodies that don't mind their own business. He did lose quite a few members after March shutdown and I'm sure he will lose quite a few more now.

There’s a Lafayette corona virus updates Facebook page and the older Karens there were attacking Reds non stop prior to the mask mandate. It was utterly ridiculous.

They kept comparing policies of small bullshite gyms like Lourdes etc.
Red’s is its own animal as far as size and scope goes. It would be hard to apply the same rules there as you would at smaller gyms
