Fever, infected tonsils, and cough that will not abate

5 days into antibiotics.
Ibuprofen every six hours with them.
Tylenol every six hours in the middle of that.
Lowest fever I've recorded is 100.5 in that time span.
Lymph nodes on right side were originally swollen to size of a plum.
No chest congestion. Literally coughing so hard pieces of dead tissue are tearing off of tonsils throat area. Thats with tussin rx or xr, whatever the drug version is.
Doc says, it takes time. I haven't slept more than two hours at a stretch and 15 hours total in 6 days.
Any idea of relief?

I'd suck my own dick if it meant some semblance of peace.

AB aren’t giving you relief because it’s likely a nasty virus. Rest, fluids, and time is the answer. Sorry.
Dr should be able to give you something good for the cough though.

But how am I supposed to rest if I can't sleep because of fever sweats, chills, or coughing myself inside out.

You need something for the cough.
Take Advil and Tylenol round the clock every 6 hours for the fever.
Rest. Don’t work. Even if you can’t sleep, rest as much as you can.

This, more than likely. I tell my patients that it's work because you have to constantly take OTC meds (the correct ones for the correct symptoms) around the clock.

Stop going to your drug dealing Dr. and fast. Knock out a quick 72 hour fast and you will “reset” your system. From that point forward maintain a fasting focused lifestyle along with a ketogenic WOE and you hardly if ever will be sick.

Negative. Lungs sound clear and have no shortness of breath.

Same. Currently sipping hot toddy. It’s miserable. Taking 2000 mg of Tylenol and about 800-1000 of ibuprofen per day. Cough syrup. Lots of vitamins and antibiotics at this point because everything seems infected. Been sick since the 8th of August.

My first thought as well. OP's probably doing more harm than good.
I don't know what's going on, but it seems like there is a ton of respiratory illness for late summer. I work with a large team spread across the US and Canada, and half of my organization is sidelined with some mystery respiratory illness.

I have never had a fever for this long. Ever. Even when I had the flu. That was two days.
ETA: and not even 10 minutes after that post, fever is gone.
But I feel like I did four days ago. Like I was hit by a truck.

Coughing from post nasal drip?
If so have you tried mucinex? It’s the only thing that will dry me up enough to let me sleep when I have post nasal drip. Give it a shot. I’m going to assume you’ve tried sudafed and benedryl already.

Not sure that would actually help you situation but if that's the case... your tonsils are the least of your issues.
Need some steroid injection or meds that can knock the white out that infection.

Add green tea, honey and lemon that.

What kind of doc? I’ve found GP’s are much more laid back than an ENT would be. Maybe need to see someone else for a second opinion.
