Eat some spoiled food first. Will make fasting easier.

Starting to eat the Keto diet next week. This will kick off the ketogenesis. I've never been able to even fast for half a day before so not sure how long I will be able to hang on.

Got that covered. Basically for a metabolic reset. I'm about to get ripped.

Isn’t fasting considered not eating or drinking?

Keto isn't for everyone. If you see it doesn't work for you, just find out what your rough BMR (the amount of calories your body burns just to function on a normal day) is and set your daily calories to less than whatever your BMR is. Generally someones BMR is 2000+ calories so if you prep its really easy to eat less than 2000 calories a day. It is quite simple, if you burn more calories than you put in then your body has no choice but to burn fat for energy.

Fasting = no calories in

So you can drink water, black coffee, tea with no sugar, etc

Try going for a casual stroll during your normal eating times. For example, if you normally eat around 6pm for dinner go for a easy walk. One to take your mind of food and two to remove yourself from access to food. Prolonged fasting is just getting through those ghrelin spikes which last about 30-min to an hour.
