Seen a couple of people using rings that can be rigged up to a pull-up bar and do different exercises with them.

Yes they are a staple in my home gym. Extremely versatile and will light your arse up if you aren't used to using stabilizers.

Was thinking they would be good for backwork if low enough, for rhomboids. Obviously for shoulders.

I just started a couple of months ago with a program called The Iron Cross. It’s hard but seems very beneficial.

For rhomboids, look up shoulder "Y" pull

Can also do face pulls with rotation, skin the cats and others to really strengthen the full shoulder girdle not just the muscles.

I credit ring training and smart training in general with me being almost 36, with over 20 years under the bar on and off, relatively healthy and having extremely healthy shoulders.

I was thinking having back parallel to ground and pulling up, squeezing shoulder blades together as in wide grip seated rows

I do dips with them. You think you'll never get the hang of it at first, but after a while its easy.

I’ve done that movement before with the rings and it works great

They are great for inverted rows.

My routine is almost exclusively ring training.

So I’m 41 and have been on rings for about 2 months. I’ve been worried about hurting my shoulder at this age. Are you saying the opposite may be true?

If you perform corrective exercises like skin the cats, face pulls with rotations and Y pulls, yes I am saying the opposite is true.

But you have to work in a progressive manner and not get crazy with it until you have worked up to that level.

I’m still on week 1 of Iron Cross after 8 weeks. So I guess you can say I’m taking my time and not getting crazy on the rings. Lol.

Just watched skin the cat video. Long way to go before I can try that one, if I even can.

I just did flies on them for the first time. Ugh. That was a workout.

I got some rings in this week. Plan on incorporating them in. I go do a TRX workout once a week so it’s very similar.

I'll stick with dips. An old shoulder injury makes me wary of the more extreme stuff.

I wouldn't suggest ring dips for many but working up to skin the cats and then doing y raises and face pulls with rotations are two of the best shoulder prehab exercises you could do period
