Started in on a Texas Method template. I was feeling tired last week, so I started with a conservative 5 rm and low end % from that.
Squats, 5x5 with 255.
Weighted pushups, 5x5 plus approx 100 lb (subbed for bench to save time).
5x1 snatch grip dead with KB swings x3 after. I did add the KB Swings b/c TM is fairly light on posterior chain work.
Maybe I'll do some light GPP tomorrow, but no barbell until Wed. Probably should skip it to actually rest a bit.

Decided to do a light tabata circuit for recovery. 20 on, 10 off, alternating between farmers walks and sledgehammer swings.

Took a week off because my elbow was flaring up. Got back at it this morning and had a solid workout. Admittedly, I’m a little heavy today after weekend/holiday festivities.

I’m glad the holidays are pretty much done. We still have New Year’s, but that’s just one night and day. I’m so ready to refocus on diet and training.

No kidding. I’ve been so busy that it’s made being as strict as I normally am nearly impossible,but it should settle down after New Years. I think my fiancé and I may try Keto for a few months. I’ve never fully dove in and I’m curious.

Finished a partial deload.
Squats, 315x5, 1 set.
Bench, 225x5, 1 set.
Dead, 455x2, 1 set.
Reverse hyper just to loosen up my low back and hips, 2 sets of 15. Little upper back stability work.
Went for a 30 minute hike in the mountains afterwards because I have the week off and it's fun.

Tucson, AZ. I live about 5-10 min south of the foothills of the Catalina mountains, and there are a lot of trails that run into them.
I should do it more often. High was only 50 today, and I like hiking in colder weather.

Past two days at the gym have been MISERABLE. Gotta work in with one or two other folks just to get any time on a bench.
Managed to share an adjustable with guy yesterday for flat and inclined dumbbell work.
80 x 10 x 3 flat DB press
70 x 10ish x 3 inclined DB press
+cable work and dips
Screw New Year's resolutions.

New year, week 2 of modified Texas Method.
Today I did some light strongman circuit for a recovery day.
Farmers walks 4x160 per hand in a superset with 250 LB sandbag clean and hold. Then supersets of 20 yard sprints with 83 LB sled and some sledgehammer swings.
Going back to work tomorrow, so I took advantage of the last day off to go for another hike in beautiful, sunny, 50 degree weather. Not my photo, but the trail I took:

Upper, giant sets of weighted pushups, rows, side laterals snd board press. 3 rounds there.
Tried out knee wraps for the first time ever. Screwed up the wrap and got nervous. I'll need to learn how to wrap them, but it's obviously very, very supportive.
