I dunno if it's just the heat or what. I also get a little impatient because it takes so long for me to warm up that I don't do my whole workout.

My lower back, hips, chest, and upper back are all super tight.

South Africa and Botswana were great but back to the grind. First Day back after 1 month of not lifting and it felt great getting back under the iron. Started with a leg day. ??.

Squat 185 3x5.
Leg Curls
Leg Press
Back extensions.

Also ran for 30 mins on the treadmill after my run. Going to be hella sore tomorrow but so glad to be back in the gym. Don’t feel like I lost as much as I thought I would.

Squats flew today. Form felt good after that break. Will throw on 200+ on the bar Thursday.

Cardio was yoke walks at 60-65% for 50 feet at the top of every minute.

I was kind of all over the place with my workout today. I'm basically just going to the gym and farting around until my surgery. Then I'll get back on a real program.

Chest and tri's today.

Flat BB bench went 225x10, 245x4, 265x3, 225x8

Incline and decline cables.

Tricep pushdowns. Skull crushers.

Mixed in about 8 minutes of babe-watchers between sets because gat damn the hunnies came out today.

Took today and yesterday off. Can’t wait to smash it tomorrow. Sore from a softball game over the weekend.

Welcome.

Volume bench. Giant sets, 3x5 flat bench at 225, pullups and side laterals. Then 3x5 weighted dips, in giant sets with skull crushers and curls.

Cardio was 160 per hand farmers walks for 50 feet at the top of every minute for 8 minutes. That was rough. Finished with some bloodflow restriction arm training.

Y'all use grips/straps when you're doing things like rack pulls and shrugs?

I can never get close to the weights y'all are posting (especially at those reps) without my grip blowing out. It gives out long before the target muscle does. When I do shrugs I have to do like...185 max and crank out a ton of reps.

If you want a grip solution and have access to a trap bar or farmers walk implements, that is your solution.

I use straps for most rep work, but if I'm doing farmers walks, I can ditch the straps at any point and my grip holds up at any weight.

Incline Bench: 200x8
Deadlift: 275x8

My squat and deadlift are so frustrating right now because of my time off of lower body due to injury...just slowly building them back up. It’s hard to stay patient and progress slowly when I’m not pushing near the numbers I had beforehand.

I use straps and wear a belt. Whenever I bang out deads for high reps or other pulling lifts, I don’t want to have to wort about grip.

I can hold high reps, but they shift and tear up my hands. The straps keep skin on my hands.

Light recovery today. Front squats, 225 for 4 sets of 3 in giant sets with hip thrusts and weighted GHRs. Did hollow rocks and neck work for 2 supersets after.

While I'm as far as there is from a lifting expert, I've found that deadhangs have done wonders for my grip strength (I run obstacle course races that require lots of grip strength).

What are dead hangs? Holding on to a pull up bar for lengths of time?
