Yeah it was pretty disappointing seeing that the scaled version still had strict HSPU. Frustrating that I wont even get a solid workout in using scaled. I will be lucky to get a few even with the 5" help.

I saw the scaled requirement and still wonder wtf 5” elevated means.

Anyways, my kipping HSPU is trash. I’m faster on Strict, but it’s unknown on how my shoulders will feel 5 min in.

Maybe sets of 5 when I get to the wall? No idea.

My guess it that it means you're on some padding or something so youre 5" closer to the line on the wall, less distance to travel for the happy.

I might crush this. My arms are so short and my head is so big, I might have 6" of space anyway

Think strict HSPU with your head resting on two stacked ab mats instead of the ground.

19.3 is going to be tough for a garage warrior.

I guess i can lunge down the street and trash my knees........and maybe attempt to handstand walk down the street.

I hate what the open/games season has become. We'll see how it plays out for CF.

I e never done lunges or step ups w a single dumbbell.

What hand do you hold it w on the lunge or step? Gonna do it at noon and just be done.

I can not do a strict hspu.

Same hand until you get tired. I'm going right hand up and left out for balance and only switching for recovery.

Same. But after watching a couple videos, getting to them may be a bigger issue than trying to complete one

Yeah, the short demonstration vid shows her just holding to her side in right hand.

Damn she's good at those push ups.

When I was really working on strict HSPUs I could crank out 27-30 unbroken out of the gate.

It’s probably 22-25 now. Getting to them won’t be too bad.

On the HS walks, you can attack it one of two ways:

1. Switch arms every 25’
2. Use the same arm for 50’, but quickly drop the DB to your shoulder for a second at 25’ while you pivot and go back to a lockout position on the 2nd 25’. Switch arms for the next 50’

I’ll probably start with #2 for the first 100’ and change to #1 for the next 100.

Stepups will be a grinder to stay moving. You need to find a good position for the DB here so your shoulders aren’t too fricked up headed to the wall.

If you suck at strict HSPUs but can get some, just work on singles from the get go. The more time you spend inverted trying to get an extra rep, the more time you will be staring at the wall trying to recover.

Everything I have read says getting to the HSPUs as fast as possible is the key to this workout.

Yeah, I don't know why I am bitching. I am not making it through all the step ups anyway.

Guess I'll just do as much Rx as I can. If I somehow make it through the step-ups I'll just switch to HRPU or push press, whatever coach says to do.

Good luck finishing the step ups everyone. My old man knees couldn't do it.

Same. Was super fired up about them making a scaled workout too hard for a normal athlete, and then realized I need to make it to that point before I complain

62 reps Rx. Got 22 step-ups. The first 10 felt like I was trying to move Earth itself and I did singles.. then my legs recovered a bit and I could handle 5 at a time.

Stepups were slow as frick.

I had to use my right arm nearly exclusively due to stability issues with my left on the lunges. Slowed me down.

I haz a sad. I’m re-doing this on Monday. Got to the wall at 10 secs left and hit 3 HSPUs.

I need to go..

50’ R
25’ L
50’ R
25’ L
50’ R

On the lunges and just stay moving on the SUs.

If I can give myself 1-1:30 remaining, I could pump out 20-30 HSPUs.
