Workout of the Day

For time:

7 rounds
-7 sumo-deadlift high pulls (135/95)
-7 burpees over bar

Kid had been sick so I'm not sleeping nearly as much. Scaled this one a lot and it still kicked my arse. Did 75lb high pulls and scaled to just burpees instead of burpee over bar, then scaled reps to five when it was clear I want gonna finish in the 10min cap. 9:36

Of course a short WOD like this means a long, undocumented warmup.

Changing it up a bit

Stiff leg RDL
DB bench
Bulgarian split squat
Barbell strict press
DB side delt raise
Tri extension
Db flys

All movements are 8x8 with a 3 second negative and :30 rest between sets.

Check you damn ego at the door on that one.

72:15 for me. I really liked it. I’ll hopefully do it again in a few weeks and see how I progress.

How does one know when they are ready for 135 on Grace? I've only done it once, and I used 115. It damn near killed my lungs. Today, we have what amounts to Grace with a 500 meter run before and after.

Scale it if you have to run before and after, totally.

I'm having a strong inner debate about going today. The kid's been sleeping like shite, I think I have a combined 10hrs sleep for the last 3 nights. Might go and just ask coach to take it easy on me, let me just get some movement in without dying. Just want to maintain the habit of going.

Those short workouts are when you know you will be tired at the end of the warmup.

Today:

Partner Workout: 25min cap
100 Cal Row
150 Wall Balls 20/14
200 Stepups 30/24

We split everything evenly. I started 30” stepups and decided to switch to 24” after 5 of them.

Decided to do 135. Did sets of 6. Was surprised how easily I did them yet how tired those made me if that makes any sense. Took too long of breaks and walked at least half of that last 500. 14:31 which was dfl as usual. I feel like I got better at cleans though

On a new program, I haven't been this sore in a while.

Back Squat
Power Clean
Chin Ups
Chest Supported Dbell Row
Steps ups
Straight Bar Bicep Curls
Upright Row

All sets are 8x8 with a 3 second negative and :30 rest between. The power cleans have no tempo, just do 8 and don't worry about negative. Had to scale the chin ups to 8x4, I couldn't do 8 quality reps with that negative.
