Deadlift day

If it were not my desire to see improvement in the Oly lifts, I'd stop doing these altogether. I hate them that much.

Why do you hate deadlifts? I look forward to those days.

30 min AMRAP

10 ring rows
10 Deadlift 135/95
10 Alt Step Ups 20”
10 Push-ups
10 TTB
10 Burpees

6 Rx.. if I wasn’t across the gym from the rings, I’m finishing 7 rounds. Cardio still sucks.

6+10 for me.

Subbed hanging knee raises for ttb and knee push ups. And eventually started stepping burpees

They hurt while I'm doing them. I am bad at them. I am sore for a week after them.

It’s like we only have three movements

Ttb
Burpees
Dubs then a run or row.

Look at the one they did. Rows, push-ups, ttb, dead’s, all w manageable weight. Would be a ball to move thru that for 30minutes. I’d prob only get 5 rounds but it would be fun. 10ttb are manageable, 30-20-10 ttb, not fun at all

Today's partner deal looks ok. I'll have to make a deal with my partner on those sit ups and trade something out:

Partner Wod

For Time
1000 Meter Row
100 AB Mat Sit Ups
100 Push Ups
1000 Meter Row

use your legs more

work on your mobility to get down lower when pulling the bar

drive through your heels when sitting back so you don't rely on using your back so much

make sure you are engaging your core to keep tight and breath properly.

esp when lifting for strength, and on wods that have deadlifts, worry about doing it correctly. To much can go wrong when going for time.

Man, I try-I really do. Hell, even when I powerlifted in HS I squatted more than I deadlifted. And yeah, in any wod, I go light and work on form.

I just concentrate on my form and then try to remember that the deadlift is a push with the legs, not a pull with the back. Your arms are only there to connect your body to the bar. I pulled a muscle in my back just deadlifting 225lb during the last Open because I wasn't paying attention and started rounding my back.

Today's WOD:
Warm Up:
2:00 plank hold
1:00 dead hang
shoulder stretch
10 leg swings lateral/linear each leg
10 Farmer's carry DB lunge
10 DB push press
2:00 building pace on machine

Rest 3 to 5 min.

For time:
1000m row/ski or 70/50 cal AB
30 double DB swings
100 Double unders
750m row/ski or 60/45 cal AB
20 double DB swings
75 Double unders
500m row/ski or 60/45 cal AB
10 double DB swings
50 Double unders

Strength was a long squat clean session

Ended up hitting a PR for 225lb

Then a good strength/conditioning workout mix

EMOM 16 mins
Odd mins 5 bench press at body weight so 175 for me
Even mins 5 dead hang pull ups
