Joined CrossFit 3 weeks ago now. Sore as frick but this has me wanting to go workout and be consistent. I haven't worked out this intense on a consistent basis since freshman year of college.

2 years ago, I thought this would eventually stop happening. I was wrong.

Most of the time I'm only a little sore. Some WODs still kick my arse though

Some WODs
Some 100% chance of soreness for me: weighted lunges or step ups, Cindy, chippers with lots of KB swings, headcutters etc.

WORKOUT OF THE DAY
FOR TIME:
100 BURPEES TO A 45# PLATE
*EVERY MINUTE RUN DOOR TO DOOR (SHORT)
*WE WILL MODIFY ACCORDINGLY!

The modification was to run every other minute. I also scales by stepping up and down. Goal was to finish between 12 and 15 minutes... I finish 17:25

Yesterday's partner workout:

175 cal bike
80 SDHP (I go you go by 10s)
20 alt burpees
60 thrusters (I go you go by 10s)
20 alt burpees
60 goblet squats (I go you go by 10s)
20 alt burpees
75 cal bike

Got teamed up with the most inshape guy there. He drug me through that workout. Good thing I am good with the bike and we were the second team off the bikes.

As for the soreness discussion: Any movement that has the word "squat" in it means I am sore for 2 days. Front, back, goblet, air, etc.

Do all you guys just do crossfit wods, or do you lift too?

Some of us do WODs and some lift on the side too. I just do WODs and get some walks in on the side. My being overweight means CrossFit already is hard on my joints so I try to do 3-4 WODs per week but walk and stretch nearly daily to aid recovery. In the future I'll probably add in lifting on the side.

Both..

I did a bicep workout around 2:30 yesterday before the burpee WOD at 4..

3x6 @ 100 barbell
3x8 @ 35 incline dB curls
2x6 @ 40 hammer DB curls
2x6 @ 45 dB curls

I’ll bench tomorrow and do a shoulders, back and triceps later this week.

I have standard lifting routines I’ll hit.

I work them in when I can.

What wraps do you use? I've only used Rogue so far but was thinking about trying the JAWs for the sole purpose that they're available on Prime.

I’ve been using these for a few years.

More than enough since I’ve lifted more weight with this style compared to the velcro style.

Most of our workouts have A/B/C. A is almost always lifting of some sort. Squats, Olympic, presses etc.

Today:

200m run immediately into
5 rounds :40on/:20off sled push immediately into
400m run into
5 rounds :30on/:30off sled push into
600m run into
5 rounds: :20on/:40off sled push.

Coming off those runs immediately into the sled push was bad news.
