What feels awful about it?

And edge makes a spider cambered bar.

I’ve got the EliteFTS SSB and the axle collars work great on it. I normally use my cheap lock jaw collars though. It’s not super snug but it’s tight enough to keep the plates from slipping off the bar.

I think this is fine for most people. The fact the sleeves don't rotate makes it harder for the weights to slide too.

Unless it's truly near capacity, I can't see any collars that have any grip failing. I legit just have a lockjaw collar with athletic tape wrapped around 3 times and it's fine.

I don’t squat with anything but SSB these days. If a gym doesn’t have it, I don’t squat. A traditional bar is just murder on my shoulders and my back. I also just feel like I have more control with a yoke grip.

The padding on that bar seems a little lite though. With my joints these days, I have to max protect as much as I can.

For a true ssb, the crepnsek is perfectly balanced. I tried a new one so not sure how the pad holds up over time but nothing is awful about it, in fact it's great.

The elite yoke ssb feels totally different as it's designed to throw you forward more. I ended up choosing this option with the Titan but the crepinsek is an amazing bar from s great company.

Pads have held up great for 2 years with very consistent use.

Thought I'd comment on the Crepinsek SSB.
I've had mine for almost 30 years. I ordered it pre-internet days from a magazine. I used it for several years regularly then it sat for a while. Started using it again regularly every week for the last 2 years. It is in great condition, the padding is still just like new. The bar is fantastic. Perfectly balanced so you don't even need handles -which is how I've used it most of the time I've owned it until recently. I use it for all kinds of squats and good mornings.

I recently got some wide grip heavy duty stubby handles for it from Ralph to make good mornings a little easier. They are not necessary at all but thought they'd help. Pretty cool that I could upgrade a 30 year old bar!
Anyhow, just my 2 cents but I think its a fantastic piece of equipment and Ralph is a stand up guy. Oh and if anyone is wondering, there are several styles of handles you can get for it and he has replacement padding and covers too.
I can totally recommend the Crepinsek SSB. Pretty sure there is none better including the eliteFTS bar though I would not hesitate to purchase that either.

Awesome to hear about your bar, hope you stick around.

Yes Ralph is a stand up and great guy and the bar is perfectly balanced.

The elite and crepnsek are just different bars and the elite (and Titan clone) are not true ssb bars and are made to thrust you forward.

Hope you stick around and post more.

Very cool. That post may have swayed me.

I’m going to purchase a SSB on Black Friday. I’ll be curious to see if Crepinsek offers any deals. If so, I’ll hop on that train.

It's just a different strokes for different folks situation, but this is one of the biggest things I love about the EFS bar.

It drives you forward, and it has built up my spinal erectors and traps a ton. I'll never miss a regular squat due to back strength and it helps me a ton with sandbags.

Yea i have the Titan clone as elite was out of stock at the time. I love the crepnsek and love the elite, both are best in class but different.

You just push up the handles to make it push forward

Anyone with any experience using the Marrs Bar? I realize it’s not a SSB in the true sense.

That's always made the lift easier for me. Handles up tends to lighten the weight trying to drive the handles down, which is the drive you forward effect.

I used a safety bar for squatting last week. This week I used a camber bar for bench and squat and it’s extremely awkward but is awesome for teaching control.

Down on the crep is balanced. Up pushes weight further forward.

Haven't used Mars bar, but I have read it's very similar to a true ssb like the crepnsek bar. Looks to be bad arse bar but to me not worth the price of you already have a ssb.

It's the opposite on the EFS. Up helps you keep vertical on the back angle. Down pulls you forwards even more.

Bump. Hard to believe it’s been 4 years but curious how you’re still liking the bar / how it’s holding up.

Looks like the site is down - I wonder if Ralph shut it down and Crepinsek is no more?

i heard ralph shut it down.

I still have my titan and like it but its essentially an elite clone with better sleeves.

from what everything i have read the rankings would be

1) marrs bar- by far the best for low bar squat

2) kabuki transformer bar- has the most versatility.

3) the elite fts and clones, really in this order

1) bells of steel ssb- its a clone of elite, but has olympic rotating sleeves.

2) titan ssb- clone of elite, but has chrome plated olympic sleeves

3) elite fts- this and crepinsek are the OGs but the power coated sleeves flake everywhere. I have this on my rogue trap bar and honestly it looks to be 20 years old compared to my other bars. This bar does have the best padding though, will hold up to anything you throw at it.

4) Rogue Squat bar

5) Edge Fitness System SSB
