Allergies have really been kicking my arse the last few weeks.
I've been using otc nasal decongestants several times a day.

Seems like I have to use them more often before they work.

Yes you can become dependent on afrin or Sudafed if you use it more than 5 days in a row.

Just switch to Flonase or Nasonex if it's allergies. You won't get addicted.

I used it daily for months after I moved to a new area and chalked it up to allergies, but it was the afrin's rebound congestion after a certain point. I cut it out cold turkey, and it took about 10 days to feel like I could breath again. You definitely should try and shake that habit!

Absolutely. Nasal allergies suck, but those medicated sprays can become worse. Here's what I do: use simply saline instead of Afrin. Get Flonase for the really bad seasons.

Using saline instead of a medicated nose spray will help keep those nasal passages clear without the side effects.

Not supposed to use Afrin more than 5 days or so. It actually becomes counter-effective. You get rhinitis medicamentosa.

Affrin allergy works so well for me. I try not to use it more than the recommended 3 days in a row.

Yes I’ve known a couple folks to get a deviated septum from using too much Afrin.

Yes you can be. If used regularly your body will adjust to it and cause you to be dependent on it.

I've recently started using Seagate Olive Leaf nasal spray. It's worked really well.

I had a problem getting sick every fall because of allergies. I started using Flonase last year during the fall and it went great. Just started back up.

I didnt have any issues quitting once December rolled around.
