If I get a lighter one like the 20 lb can I order more weights later?

I'm already heavy so I don't think I want to go any more than the 40LB

This is more for extra calorie burn than it is muscle building

dont think so, i think the starting weight determines number of slots on the vest

you dont have to start heavy, it adjust by 8 lbs. 5 slots for the sandbags on the front, 5 on back

Baylor has a spot in Houston? I'm there for work every few months, I'd consider going there. What's the specifics on this place?

At one point, I ate only grilled chicken and spinach with whey shakes and turkey sandwiches and fruit- for years- and ran 3 miles every morning- still fluffy- this was 26-30 years old.

Then, I got into weights, road biking, and at one point- could knock out an easy 50 miles and do sprint triathlons for fun. Would go swim 2-4
mornings a week.

Have had training sessions with 4 trainers over the 20 year span- some for well over a year at a time.

Including Johnny Pain and Martina Raskova.

46 years old today.

ETA- I love to work out/exercise. I am
the mid 40 year old guy at the gym who can take months off and walk back in and bench 225 cold turkey.

Bread is garbage and will make you fat with the exception being Ezekiel bread. Fruit is loaded with carbs and can be abused without you knowing (watch yourself eating both).

Cardio stops burning fat when you stop the cardio session. Lifting heavy weight tears down tissue which your body then repairs over the course of the next few days raising your resting metabolic rate.

If you want to have a good body, lifting heavy weight is the only option. From there, you can add your favorite form(s) of cardio.

If I'm doing 3 sets of 12 am I going too light? I think I remember reading once that you should be shooting for rep sets of 8 at most?

a) its about how close to failure you are, not about a specific rep count in general

b) its about progressive overload. are you adding reps, weight or velocity of the bar over time.

these only matter if you are not eating the amount of protein needed and you are going over on calories

only thing that matters (well for first 90% of results) is protein and calories and until you are a true 15% bodyfat its the only thinigs you should be concerned with

everything else is just a strategy. i say that as someone who does lower carb as a strategy

its been proven by a couple dozen tightly controlled studies and meta-analysis now.

Yes

I took a haitus from working out while I was in west Texas so progressively adding more weight and volume

I haven't pushed myself to complete failure yet as I don't want to overdo it this early on in the reboot but I should be ready for that next week

keep in mind, that one test is a snapshot and you could be way different either way today

quote:

test 446

so range is 300-1000ish ng/dl. for age group 30-45 average is around 350-500 with low being considered right around 350ish

so in the average there but 100% not optimal. Optimal would be the 700-900 range.

if i was you i would try and get diet right and try a test booster. t-sterone from truenutrition's the lab is what i would suggest if you wanted pill form only. the other in pill form would be sns optimize T. both are good

if you wanted best overall...iconic formulations sustain alpha if you wanted to stay a natural alternative. Iconic's dermacrine would be the step up from sustain alpha and the strongest of all.

quote:

free test 57.1 (5.71 ng)

the 57.1 is pg/ml and normal range is 46-224

so low end. we want to get that up. #1 product for that over the counter is going to be boron at 9mg/day.

i would like to know the shgb number, dhea number and estro number but this is a good start

if i was advising you to start, would be the following

#1- sustain alpha as directed
#2- boron @9mg amazon
#3- High quality oral dhea- toniq micronized dhea 100(amazon) - take 6 per day
#4- high quality vit d in fish oil- i use defranco but use what ever brand you like that is high quality and keep in fridge. take 6 a day.

do the above and then test for the following in 3-4 months(on top of making sure diet and training are on point as much as possible)

#1) total test
#2) free test
#3) shgb
#4) estrogen
#5) dhea
#6) Somatomedin-c (igf-1 aka HGH levels)
#7) thyroid profile w/free t4 profile
#8) vitamin D 25 Hydroxy

this is on top of any health markers you want to have checked too

now after thats done and after 6 months we feel like we have everythign in a good spot and you wanted to step it up a notch for size/strength

3 months of the following

1) dermacrine in place of sustain alpha
2) boron
3) a-bolic4- @ 6 caps/day
4) GlucoVantage XT with every carb meal
5) Phosphatidic Acid XT @4-6/day
6) x-gels @4/day

the above is assuming 100% natural and not wanting to use any prohomones. if you wanted you could cut the last 2 out and then after 8-12 weeks on the base stack i listed run a 2nd cycle with them added in. then after another adding in turk and ecdy

if looking to cut for 12 weeks(on top of a ECA stack/perfect diet/training)

1) dermacrine in place of sustain alpha
2) boron
3) a-bolic4- @ 4 caps/day
4) GlucoVantage XT with every carb meal
5) Reduce Xt @3 caps/day or iron legion invictus
6) recomp 20 @ 4 caps/day

if you wanted to add stim free fat burners...feel free.

same applies for cutting as muscle building as far as cylcing. could add in laxogenin(i suggest iconic transdermal). 7-keto dhea works for cutting too.

if you wanted to move to hormone based but not destroy natural test levels long term and over the counter

1) any of the black series from iconic works for either goal

2) mk677 works great for muscle growth as adder

3) 11-keto/11-oxo (iconic or iron legion are best)

ok i think i covered everything

I started taking muscle tech platinum multi that has 10mg of boron as my multi. I’ll look into other stuff. I plan on asking GP for a full blood test on Friday.
Only other hormone you asked for that I have is SHGB at 34 nmol
Thanks bro

Sorry I just noticed this post. I do something similar here in Bham: LINK

It's a monthly subscription based service. They monitor your diet, provide fitness plans, and offer testing based off their evals. I've been pleased with the service so far. The two people besides me that I know on the service are all in the best shape of their lives at 40+ years old. Guy also has bodybuilders and athletes on the program, but I don't personally know them.

With that said, it's WAY less expensive than what you described. But I see this as the preventative healthcare model that will ultimately be the model going forward. IMO.

It's been really good for me and the two buddies of mine. We are all 40+. I struggled to lose the last 10 lbs. My other buddies were grossly out of shape. They've made dramatic improvements. Simple stuff: exercise and diet. About the cost of a decent gym membership.

Flame away…..

I went to my Cenegenics appointment

I’ll keep everyone posted, but it’s not a scam.

I have two Houston area physicians working with me- I have some GI issues, one of my Cenegenics physicians is a practicing GI in Houston outside of his work there.

Physical was 6 hours long.

What did I learn?

I’ve gone from a D to a C on InBody- so those of you who know, know I have turned into a fatass.

Here’s where I am super impressed….

I often thought I had some hormonal problem that was causing my inability to keep my fitness in check.

So much so that I’ve done blood work with my local GP, and then checked it with Everlywell tests. They match, btw, in case you want to know the accuracy of Everlywell.

Anyhow- my cortisol levels are very low. Regular doc says “Great! Not your problem!” Cynegenics doc also does DHEA panel and says “Not so fast- Cortisol levels are so low, combined with very low (like off the charts low) DHEA numbers, it shows that you have been in prolonged stress for so long, your adrenal glands have just given up”

So, it cost me a TON of money to figure this out- I don’t regret it one bit.

I have a prescription now to help with the DHEA and also for some TRT so I can get to the uppper end of the range.

It’s not for everyone- I just question why normal medicine in this country is such a shite show that even though I suggested all this to my local doc, I had to spend about $5000 to pay a doc to help me.

Going forward, I will pay them $400/month. That includes 2 blood draws at home during the year, and unlimited office visits as well as phone and email consults. Yearly, I will opt to do a physical with them for $2500- it is DEXA, VO2 Max, Mental Cognizance, Physician Exam, and Carotid Artery Sonogram.

I will go to Houston every other month to see one of my docs. I’m totally looking forward to making a day of it.

In addition, I am getting full meal and exercise planning- as much as I want.

I hope that by writing all this- if someone else is interested, they can get information from this thread.

I’m impressed so far.

How do y'all come up with this shite? It blows my mind how many people don't have even basic understanding of nutrition or how the body works. Literally nothing you said here is true yet you're giving advice to others? Wtf dude?
