Sounds like he was going through wheat withdrawal.
William Davis MD, author of Wheat Belly:
Digestion of wheat yields polypeptide exorphins which bind to opiate receptors in the brain.

I'm convinced that carnivore and keto is going to create a generation of people with wrecked kidneys.

Based off what? Carnivore has zero negative effect on the kidneys. The standard American diet has endless negatives

Based off the National Kidney Foundation. Kidneys have to work harder to remove protein wastes.

This is only if you’re not eating enough fat or drinking enough water. Fat will transport the nitrogen from protein and water will help flush. If you’re eating too lean of protein then yes that nitrogen can collect in the kidneys.

There are 2 main branches to the "My Experience with _____ Diet" reports, one describes an overwhelmingly positive experience and the other is the polar opposite, this Men's Health article is of the latter branch. The writer may not be an idiot, but he was playing the part of the "Useful Idiot" for this write up. He sabotaged himself for clicks.
That's not to say there isn't valid criticism of the Carnivore Diet, there is, but he didn't do much to provide it. He references a discussion(s) with a registered dietician who makes the familiar statements that RD's make about any diet that includes broad restrictions of entire categories of foods, but that is it and IT is pretty light weight.
As for the title of this topic, where is a link to the studies on the topic: Carnivore/Keto shown to effectively treat inflammatory bowel diseases, is it in the other thread? This is not a call out, I'm genuinely curious to read it.

Also, hit up YT and listen to Dr Shawn Baker. He explains a lot as well.

I can't find it in that Men's Health article, all the links go to other articles, youtube videos, blogs, etc. I'll find it eventually. This topic and these studies have been mentioned before somewhere I've seen so it may be a new study, perhaps it's behind a paywall at the moment.
ETA: Oh shite, nevermind, I just realized I was looking at the top of page 2, not page 1.

Its a pretty new study. There is already a lot of anecdotal evidence that carnivore does very well for autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. There havent been many studies on the diet though

There are a lot of strict carnivores on youtube, etc. None have ever had kidney issues. Ive only been on it for about 100 days but no kidney issues at all

Chronic kidney diseases does not happen in days, weeks or months. Do this stuff for years and the cumulative effects will catch most of you.

In all fairness - do you see the cumulative effects of eating all the processed shite American's have been eating?

Maybe if you have kidneys with a low GFR. The high protein and phosphorus content in meat would give weak kidneys a problems. Anyone with normal kidney function over 90 GFR would have no problems on a Carnivore/ Keto diet.

Yeah I dont get the reaction some people have to carnivore or keto. The kidney thing is straight up nonsense. Hes also downvoting every response. Just a juvenile idiot
