Never had such a watch before. Tips or advice? Arriving next week.

Interested in seeing responses as I just purchased a 255 today. Already wondering if I should've gone with the 955 or maybe even the epix 2.

I have the Venu plus. I like it. Nice upgrade from a 225.

Been looking at the Venu 2 or the Fenix 7. Can’t decide

Amazon had this one for $249 Monday so I thought I would take a chance.

From all my research, seems like venu 2 is smartwatch first, fitness/health secondary. The opposite is true for the Fenix. The venu's amoled screen is a million times better than the Fenix and forerunner screens.

The perfect watch for me would've been 255 with same screen (amoled) as the venu 2.

Probably not what you’re looking to hear, but I just took my 245 off two weeks ago after years of wearing smartwatches. It’s been great. No more checking my body battery or how many steps I’m at or any of that nonsense. All the data can get to be too much after a while

I'm sure an argument can be made that most of the additional features are of minimal use, at the very least because the algorithms used to calculate everything are poor. There's probably plenty of users that don't bother with any of the general health monitoring.

However, nobody can dispute the usefulness of these watches during activity or exercise.

I’m addicted to body battery on my Garmin. It seems to be pretty accurate, although it could be that I am way too obsessive about it, so it could be that psychologically and subconsciously I’m trying to get my body to feel like the battery says I should. High or low. Beginning to wonder if the constant monitoring of it is good or bad. I mean when I wake up to take a leak at night I’m pressing the button on my watch to check my battery.

I got the Instinct 2 in June. It was a big adjustment coming from apple watch but I love it. Battery life is amazing. Once you get the buttons memorized its very useful. I use it to track workouts, runs, hikes, and just wear everyday. One major tip is to turn off the automatic pulse Ox sensor. Pulse OX knocks the battery life on a charge in half. You can still manually check it if you want to. I played around with some downloaded watch faces but ended up going back to one of the preloaded faces. Download garmin connect app to get very detailed view of all the data it collects. I watched a lot of youtube videos to get explanation on some of the navigation features. You can use garmin connect website to make your own courses and load them to the watch. Works pretty well but not as sophisticated as a Fenix navigation mode due to the black and white screen.

Damn screen is locked. How the hell do I unlock it? Manual doesn't say.

I ordered a Fenix 6X awhile ago and I know the newer 7 has touchscreen but damn I hated that 6x. I went back to my Apple watch and couldn't be happier. UI is so much better.
