Anyone ever heal this up on their own? The pain is in the front of my left shoulder. I thought it was a shoulder issue, but after seeing my pain doc for a cortisone injection, he said it was my bicep tendon. I researched it and he’s right. I have every symptom in the book. The pain is becoming unbearable now. I’m going on about 6 months of it. I can barely work my shoulders in the gym at this point. I have a ton of pain and tenderness in the front of my shoulder, and it worsens with overhead lifting. Sleeping has become a bitch too. I’ve tried NSAIDs, rest, cortisone…nothing is working.

Are you sure its not an impingement? Also, rest is your answer. I would take a long break from any lifting.

Didn’t think about it being an impingement. I’ll research that too. As for a break, I was out for 8 weeks after my hernia surgery in November and that didn’t help a bit.

I had this last year, took 6 months to heal, in addition to cortisone shots directly into the area that was inflamed or whatever. Ask him about direct area cortisone shots if you haven't already.

BTW, you already know but for everyone else, this shite sucks bad. You pretty much can't lift because it just aggravates it. You have to let it fully heal or it never goes away.

It's one of the most annoying things I've ever dealt with from an injury standpoint, and it's a dull, always there, throbbing pain. It sucks!

Be happy when it tears.

Popped the long head tendons in both arms about 14 months apart.

I used to have shoulder pain when throwing all my life and it stopped after the tear. My guess is it was impinging all of those years and it finally said frick-off and gave up.

Don't worry.

I had bicep soreness for about a month and that was it. The strength in both hasn't changed post tear.

Left one looks like this and the right, about the same.

Likely impingement during overhead pressing. Try narrowing your grip. Also, possibly try face pulls and band pull aparts to strengthen upper back and pull shoulders back.

I got mine from low bar squats. Took awhile but it went away with dry needling and stretching the chest.

I deal with mild-to-moderate bouts of this in my right shoulder. Rest and ibuprofen help, but only so much. My whole right shoulder is full of clicks, pops, and less mobile than my left... Something I need to work on desperately before it gets worse. I'm only 33 lol. Some of it I think stems from the way that I sleep because I sometimes wake up with it aching.

Damn, I’m 41 and haven’t had this until as recent as maybe last August. I don’t have any pops and clicks, just the damn constant throbbing and pain. It drives me crazy

I've always been someone who sits at a computer all day. I've seen physical therapists about it, and it comes down to needing to do a lot more pulling movements before workouts to make sure all of those muscles are good and warm, and strengthen them up.

Had this for about 8 months. Pain would go from my neck to my shoulder and down my bicep. Everyday started messaging my shoulder, neck, and bicep. Concentrated on strengthening the area around bicep tendon in my shoulder with light weight exercises. Would do curls with just light weight cables to continue working the bicep. Also had trouble with it hurting at night when laying down and trying to sleep. Stunk for a while but slowly got better as I kept working it.

A little pain here and there but most has subsided (no longer need ibuprofen, was taking it every day). I think I had some inflammation from my neck through the bicep tendon in my shoulder. It took a while but got better. Still can't really flat bench from it though.

I still have the same problem after 7 months. Cortisone didn’t work. My doctor recommended surgery. I opted for the PRP injection instead. After 8 weeks, noticeable change in pain. Pain went from an 8 to a 3. It’s still in recovery.

If you’re on instagram.. find some good rehab/prehab pages to follow.

ThePrehabGuys is solid.

Had a shoulder impingement issue in 2019. Didn’t require surgery but I couldn’t push myself up from the ground.

Started doing a lot of stabilization training through bands and light weight that you just can’t get from normal heavy weight movements. I feel stronger and healthier than I have in years.

I talked to the ortho my gf works for and she's going to do an ultrasound guided injection on Thursday. She thinks its either bicep tendonitis or an impingement as well. Hopefully that gets it for me.

Good luck. I’ve had that and it didn’t help. Going on 7 months.
