My brooks launch 2’s are pretty much decayed and I’m about to look for some new ones. Right now I’m deciding between the Ghost 11’s and the Glycerin 17s from Brooks. Anyone worn these before and have opinions on them? Or any other recommendations from other brands? I road run and probably run anywhere from 15-30 miles a week

The marathon crew is big on Sketchers.

Probably worth a look.

I haven't worn Glycerins since the 13s but they treated me well for a few years, no complaints.

I got fitted for New Balance at a Fleet Feet store. They run some computer analysis on your feet shape, etc. and generate some recommended shoes.
I was skeptical when it suggested the New Balance. I had never owned a pair of NB, but I went ahead and followed their suggestion and I have been happy with the success.

I recommend you check out the Fit ID

Glycerin's are all I wear. The cushioning is really good, if you want a cushioned shoe.

I worked at a major running store for a long time and pretty much agree with that thread in the sense that all major brands could work for anyone except Nike. I’ve tried to run in Nike’s and had more mild injuries pop up than in all of my other shoes combined. Their shoes are cheaply made, overpriced, poorly constructed piles of shite and I have a theory that they specially construct all of their pro athletes’ gear like golf balls, running shoes, etc. and sell crap to the general public. I also can’t stand Hoka FWIW, it seems like they only work for people who weigh less than 180-190 because their zero-drop shoes are so soft that I feel like I’m sinking into a negative drop when I run in them. Probably doesn’t affect a 120 lb woman though.

Rant aside, I like Brooks Ghost a lot. You really can’t go wrong with them and they’re a good all around shoe period. If you like the feel of them then they’re great

Same. Went to Fleet Feet, they had me walk and measured my feet, brought three brands out that fit my gait/foot, tried them out on the treadmill, walked out with Mizuno Waves. Paid a bit extra, but 100% worth it.

None of those types of fitting places are near me. I’m a brooks guy so I’m really just debating between the ghost 11 and the glycerin 17. Just worried the glycerin 17 (thi apprently very comfortable) won’t give me enough energy return like the ghost 11.

okay notd thanks for the info. That’s what I’m afraid of with those glycerine as well with that new foam they use. I’m only 160lbs but still don’t want to feel like I’m running on sand half way through my run

I had a neutral stride when I was younger but now pronate. Have Brooks Adrenaline and like them. Go to a specialty running store. Mine puts you on a treadmill and films you running to determine what shoe is best for you.

I have the ghost 10 and ghost 11 and prefer the 10s. You can probably find some on deep clearance.
