I like Muscle Pharm bars and also have never attempted to avoid carbs.
I eat about 2 bars/week and mix it up with whatever looks good (usually at gas station). Lately have tried the Kind bars although those aren't very high in protein. Usually as a pre-workout snack while I will go with higher protein bars after workouts.
I like eating protein from real foods so I try to get it from there rather than the bars (although the bars also taste good in moderation).

23 carbs with 20 grams of protein isn't some outlandish carb amount for a protein bar. It just doesn't have any fiber
I eat one for preworkout usually. I also count my macros though which is against you carb haters beliefs
Well this makes no sense at all, and what's with all the negative emotion directed toward people keeping their carb macros below a certain level?
As I have stated numerous times, I am not on a keto diet, but I do enter nutritional ketosis at times and I keep my sugar count low. What's the big deal? If one is keeping sugar low then 23g net (whether it's labeled "sugar" or not) is a very high carb macro count.
Anyway, I share BigScrub's skepticism about netting out fiber and sugar alcohols in processed products, but that aside for now, the Yeah! ONE bar is a good change of pace from Quest and Costco. Netrition carries.
They claim 1g of sugar and 21g protein. The chocolate brownie flavor is good.

The absolute best imo are Mission1 bars but they're getting harder to find in stores. Buy online!

Just checking in to report that Epic has recently ruined 2 of their best flavors. The bacon bars used to be 15g of protein and 0g of carb. Now - after General Mills has purchased the brand - they are 8 and 7. Shameful. Salmon is the other one that has been ruined. Used to be salmon and sea salt and is now "salmon honey maple."

But when I'm on a 200+ carb diet I sort of need carbs instead of zero carb options
Different strokes and whatnot

Strawberries before a workout is better. The carbs you are getting from that bar aren't being used

I just warmed up one of those Costco chocolate ones.... Delicious

I don't like Quest bars at all. I like the Oh Yeah! bars. You can buy them at Costco or Vitamin Shoppe. The choc/peanut one is close-ish to a Baby Ruth.

Epic all the way.
Thought their stuff was gross and stale tasting.
Quest is my fav.

The Quest Blueberry Muffin bars are my favorite

For the sake of this thread I did a little research.
I bought a couple Oh Yeah One bars. I'll eat these over the Quest bars. I actually wanted a to eat a second one after trying the first one.
Cinnamon bun
Maple Donut
Red velvet

I have zero shame in eating two in a row. I feel guilty but to every other person I look like a weirdo chomping down multiple protein bars like they are candy.

Ohyeah! One Peanut Butter Pie
the best
I recently went through a mixed box of the ohyeah bars. Birthday cake, peanut butter pie, almond dream were my favorites.
I typically eat one bar per day as a snack between lunch and dinner since I tend to eat smaller lunches

Those are tasty, but the ones you find in gas stations are like 400 calories..
