I’m not 100% that’s what it is but I have an appointment with a spine specialist tomorrow who specializes in sciatica. Either way, it’s been extremely painful, and I’ve discovered that ibuprofen almost eliminates it completely. I don’t like taking it daily though. Has anyone had success with foods or other things that are natural anti-inflammatories? Thanks guys

Wife and I have success with mobility/stretching routines and paying attention to body positioning. Some simple psoas/sciatic stretching does a world of good, but I can't promise it would help you.

The more steps I take the better mine gets. Stay active

Lose weight, strengthen core, strengthen hip flexors, and do a lot of mobility work on hips, hamstring, and back. Try to keep active, even if it is just walking everyday.

I’m 6’4” 202. Trying to gain weight. I do work out 4 times a week but I certainly have room to improve on the other things you listed.

I see a PT for my sciatica flare ups...and he usually has me back to normal after 2-3 visits.
I use Jason at River Parish Physical Therapy.

On my 7th week with sciatica. Research suggests it’s due to a bulging or herniated disc. 4-8 weeks of rest and light light low impact exercise often does it. And Ice. I started Chiro at 10 days and been going 3x a week. Helps but hasn’t really sped up process, just helped reduce the pain some and educate me on right exercises. The electrical stimulation and adjustments help with the pain. I am about 10 days from being 95% better.

I had sciatica due to a herniated disc. Tried, in order, chiro, PT, steroid injection, laminectomy. Started getting more tingling in leg/foot again a few months after surgery, and Dr fears that since my herniatiaion was so bad, I may need a follow up surgery to clean things up. Awaiting another MRI
If I could do it over, Id skip straight to the neurologist.

That chit hurts.
When pain subsides and you are mobile again...my experience that helped:
Min 3X per week:
1. Core strength
2. Stretch hamstrings (3 sets of 1 min on each leg)
3. More standing and less sitting and regular exercise
Have not had it since. That was 6-years ago.
Good luck
