Recently purchased a wall rack for my home gym. Need to add barbell and plates soon. Rogue seems like the top of the line but are there any other recommended brands? Anyone have Titan?

You can buy plates at Academy, but go with Rogue, Rep, Fringe, etc for a bar. The Cap bars are cheap.
You get a Rogue wall rack?

I got the Titan folding wall rack and installed it today. Trying to piece it all together slowly.
I guess while I’m here I should ask about dumbbells too. Have 5-30 and have been buying from Fitness Expo in Metairie. They are around $2 pound. Anywhere else that is good quality and better priced?

Facebook marketplace will be your best prices for everything. Rogue Ohio bars and plates usually pop up a few times a week

Go with a high quality brand for your barbell.. everything else you can piece together off of Craigslist or FB marketplace.
Nothing wrong with spending good money on a new barbell since it should last you a lifetime if you take care of it.

Fringe usually has decent deals on bumpers and the wonder bar. A lot of places are running 15% off right now as well. If you want to take a drive to Houston, Bolt is like a fitness equipment Mecca.

Yeah, dumbbells ate just stupid expensive now. Like everyone is saying, FB marketplace is a great way to find a deal.
It's expensive, but building your own home gym is a lot of fun.

I have a Titan SSB that I love. If their regular barbells are anywhere close to the same quality, they're good to go.

I strongly suggest checking out garage gym reviews YouTube channel. Coop does a fantastic job reviewing pretty much anything related to home gyms. Since COVID I’ve gone all in on the home gym and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a huge Rogue fan. It is a little pricey but not near sorinex and other high end companies. I think with Rogue you get what you pay for. Their quality and customer service are off the charts. My setup is below and again I’m super happy with it.
Rack: Rogue RM-6 Monster 2.0 (matador dip bar, landmine, crown pull up bar attachments). I also have the shrimp trawler off the side with an 80 lb heavy bag.
Bench: Rogue AB-3. I picked this one bc it has the incline/decline bench option and incline sit-ups as well.
Bars: Rogue Ohio power bar. Rogue EZ curl bar.
Plates (# of pairs): Rogue deep dish 45 (3), deep dish 25 (1), Olympic change plates 10 (3), 5 (2), 2.5 (1), Rogue HG bumpers 45 (2), 35 (1), 25 (1), 10 (1)
Dumbbells: Powerblocks pro series with extension to 90 lbs. Love my powerblocks. They are pretty much bullet proof. They take a little getting used to bc of the shape but I’m a big fan now.
Also have assorted bands and collars.

Just saw a dumbbell rack on FB marketplace for $80 and sets of dumbbells for $1/lb from 10lbs to 80lbs. Located in Lafayette.
If you search "free weights" in marketplace, it should come up.

Somebody better jump on that.

Brand of plates isn't important so much as the allowable tolerances. Try to keep it 2% or less.
Don't skimp on the bar. I have the Rogue Power Bar and love it. Get one that works for your style of lifting.

I got my bar and bumpers as a set from XEquipment. Good quality and great price at the time (4-5 years ago). I have an extra black olympic bar I would sell if you are around the Lafayette area.

Drive to Houston and go to Bolt Fitness. shite ton of equipment in stock. I bought their rubber coated plates and they've held up perfectly.
